Product Description

The 72-tooth Mach Series 3/8-Inch Drive Ratchet is built for SPEED turning sockets 16X's Times more efficient than a regular ratchet with a swing arch of 60-degrees.  The Mach Series 3/8-Inch drive ratchet combines the speed of a "Push Twisting" screwdriver, a ratcheting screwdriver, and the higher torque and access of a ratchet assembled together into one tool.

The Mach Series Ratchet head pivots 180 degrees for better access for hard to reach fasteners and for higher torque fastening applications.  Helix Drive Shaft locks into position transforming the Mach Series Ratchet Driver into a standard socket wrench.  Also reverses direction at the flip of a switch with forward and reverse indicators marked on the handle.

Includes:
  • 72-Tooth ratchet design
  • Helix Drive Shaft locks into position
  • Marked forward and reverse direction indicatiors on handle
  • Dual Material co-molded comfort grip handle
  • Lifetime Craftsman Warranty

Nice swivel head ratchet
I went to Sears to buy the GearWrench 81223 2-Piece Cushion-Grip Roto Ratchet Set, but bought this ratchet instead. The Craftsman combines a ratchet with a Spiral Ratchet Yankee Screwdriver action. This can speedup tightening or loosening bolts or nuts. The handle has it's own ratchet mechanism which allows the spiral ratchet action. This also allows you to use the ratchet with handle fully extended or fully compressed. The downside is that this adds bulk to the design. The Gearwrench is a much "cleaner" design and should fit into tighter spaces than the Craftsman. I don't believe that swivel head ratchets have the strength that standard ratchets do, and the Craftsman's ratchet handle or spiral grooves may make less robust than the Gearwrench design. I don't know that for sure, but I would not use either one for high torque applications. (just a personal preference) . While I've only used this ratchet a week, I don't foresee returning it. It does have the full warranty, so it reliability should not be an issue.

Wait for a better made model
The back of the ratchet head is plastic, the collar that switches left or right at the top of the handle is plastic, the in and out yankee part is very stiff and chrome plated, which means it will come off with wear. I think they need to redesign. Maybe if they had made the whole thing out of stainless it would work better. I can see a lot of returns and exchanges because of breaking and chrome pealing off from wear. This looks to be a six month tool if you use it regularly. It does have reversing capability on the ratchet head as well as the collar. the reversing ability on the collar is for when you turn the ratchet strait 180 degrees and want to use the handle like a ratcheting screwdriver.

Great ratchet

The ratchet wrench is very heavy duty and well made. I was originally concerned about the rubber and plastic parts, however, they appear to be very substantial.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Versatile and tough

This ratchet is quite the little tool. My first impression was that it was on the heavy side, but it really works quite well, they packed a lot of features into this tool.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Great tool that is versatile

I have only used it a little so far, but it has proved to be strong, flexible, and versatile, compared to a regular ratchet wrench. It can also be used in a straight-in position.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Overall
Great product

I was hesitant on this item because I'm not a fan of what at first seemed like a gimmick tool. After seeing a great deal on it, tool a chance and I'm glad I did, it is very smooth and doesn't feel flimsy as I expected when seeing the plastic elements. The different features save time and you are able to transition between them easily without stopping

I would recommend this product to a friend.
