Product Description

Craftsman 3/8" x 4-1/2" Prick Punch Provides Strength from the Steel Blade

The 3/8" x 4-1/2" prick punch from Craftsman is ideal for marking metals before you cut them. By creating an outline, you will later save time at the cutting stage and help to ensure accuracy too. The pointed, hardened tip works excellently on thin-gauge metals. The punch features a chrome vanadium steel blade that is heat treated to provide lasting strength and durability. Its 3/8" pin head forms a narrow point and, together with a 4-1/2" length, it suits layout work perfectly.

The Craftsman 3/8" x 4-1/2" prick punch has a black oxide finish that helps to prevent corrosion. As well, this finish reduces glare while you are working on a project so that you get excellent precision. It is lightweight at less than one pound. Get a Craftsman lifetime warranty with purchase, for excellent consumer value on the U.S.A.-made product. For the safest working conditions, wear safety glasses while using a punch. All Craftsman punches can be used with the punch holder.

Very good

I use this punch all the time...even on wood. With a punched starting hole when using my drill press, it's very easy to drill your hole right on the money....you can feel the drill tip go in the hole and saves time lining it up.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Craftsman 3/8 x 4-1/2 in. Prick Punch

The last one lasted over thirty years, if this one last as long I will be happy. Craftsman's products have proved that there products are still the best buy for your American dollar.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Excellent control...

A simple non-automatic prick punch, who not use the automatic punch instead?  Because this punch gives you greater control for placement and for amount of force applied. In the world of aluminum, where I have spent most of my career, having the ability to meter the amount of force used in placing s starting hole is greatly appreciated.  You can regulate how hard you use your hammer and achieve infinitely greater control over the punch than you can with an automtic prick punch.  Divet not deep enough?  Just applay a second gentle rap with the hammer.  You can quickly set a divet and start drilling where you would still be fooling with the settings on the automatic punch.

Great addition to your tool box!

This thing is a necessity of you do any drilling into masonry of any kind. Bits tend to "wander" as you start a hole in brick, concrete, etc., but start the whole with this punch and a hammer and you'll be drilling with absolute precision. Worth the money and stays sharp. Highly recommended.
