The Craftsman 3-gallon air compressor features a heavy duty 1.0 HP induction motor with a durable, long life oil-lubricated direct drive pump. It features an oil sight glass that makes checking the oil fast and easy eliminating the use of a dip stick. The pump is equipped with a cast iron cylinder sleeve for long life and an aluminum head to dissipate heat.
This compressor is great for all household inflation jobs such as bike tires, car tires, sports balls, pool toys and air mattresses. It is also capable of operating brad nailers and finish nailers for trim/finish jobs, arts and crafts projects and household repairs. The compressor is compact, lightweight (38 lbs) and portable making it very easy to transport or store under your workbench in your garage or shop.
The complete kit includes the compressor, bottle of oil, 25ft coil air hose, ¼ inch quick connect plug, ball tire chuck and a roll of sealant tape. Oil must be added to the compressor pump before operation.

I've had my little 3 gallon 1.5 hp Craftsman air compressor for 5 years. It is easy to tote around, provides me with all the scfm that my 18, 16 and 15 gauge brad & finish nailers and staplers suck up and runs smoothly and quietly. I have about 50 hrs. run time on it and have never had a it fail me.
It's portability allows me to move it to each work site and gives me the freedom to finish projects away from my large shop floor standing compressor. No, it won't power air tools or large framing air nailers, but for what my on the go needs are, it works just fine!
I looked at several other small portable air compressors and found this one to offer the most features, highest air output and ease of operation, all at the best $$$ value. My Craftsman 33 gallon shop compressor has been with me for 15 years...this little brother was a no-brainer!

have had this unit about 2 years, very little use during the time i have owned it, some tire filling and light work with brad nailer unit was always turned off when not used, walked into my garage this morning to the smell of smoke, compressor was on fire, after putting fire out and looking at unit, it was turned off so i don't know what caused it to catch fire, should have never kicked on, not impressed at all with this

Used twice. Leaked oil. Compressor locked up, even though oil level was still good. JUNK. I'm getting ready to take it back, and it falls over in the back of my truck, cracking the plastic housing and the oil filler and knocks the air cleaner off. I'm sure they're not taking it back now, but I'll see. As for operation WHILE it was working; it hopped around everywhere on the floor putting scuffs all over the place, and of course leaving a small trail of oil everywhere it went.

MY 3 gallon 1hp Craftsman Air Compressor seized up after approximately 1 hour of run time. the sight glass showed it to be full of oil. Upon the failure i removed the crankcase cover to reveal the piston connecting rod seized onto the essentric. The word Maylasia was riht there glaring at me when i openned the cover! I made the mistake of only using th eunit to air up the occasional tire so the warranty period lapsed while it was still practically new. I have ordered the piston kit from sears for $30-$40 and will hopefully get some use out of my investment. Based on the countless similar reviews I have read, I am no holding my breath in anticipation that the replacement kit will hold up. The connecting rod is cheap allow with no bearing. We'll see.

Great compressor. Mine was delivered fully charged with air and the oil reservoir was overfilled. I noticed it and drained the oil and refilled it to the proper level. It is a quiet compressor the recovers very fast. I am happy with the purchase for the price.

I have had this for about 8 years. It spends more time as a loaner to others. I have had to replace the switch and regulator controls. Overall good compressor. I use it for blowing out water supply lines and inflating tires.
