This thing's almost ready to go right out of the box-just add oil.

Best Value For The Price
After finding overpriced used junk online and at garage sales, I searched thoroughly for a new, compact, portable unit that would met my needs, for about $100-125. I did lots of "homework" and shopping around, and it paid off. I am sure I have put this unit through more abuse in 6 months than most homeowners will in a lifetime. NOTE: There is a HUGE difference between "Piston" type compressors (like this one), vs "Diaphragm" style (like the worthless, slow, noisy ones you plug in a cigarette lighter). Buy a piston compressor like this one. Do NOT buy an "Oil-Free" compressor, they are diaphragm units and you will be disappointed. They take 10-20 minutes to air up a tire, this thing will do it in less than a minute. My store was out of stock, so I ordered it online, and they shipped it to my home for FREE. This unit was in perfect condition out of the box, (I was worried, box was beat-up by freight company). Poured in the included oil, and put it to work. I really like that it came with a hose and accessory kit, (even a roll of teflon tape!), and oil. I bought a $4 quick-change coupler at the auto parts store and put it on the hose, so I can change tools quickly. A GREAT feature is the adjustable pressure regulator, and dual gauges. You don't have to worry about over-inflating anything, just set the pressure you want with a ****. I have used it HARD for the past 6 months, and it is proving to be very durable. It does not have enough capacity to constantly operate heavy-duty "air-hog" tools like die grinders, but with the 3 gallon tank, I just let it catch-up between short work sessions. NOTE: I highly recommend changing the oil after the first hour or two of actual running time. Just like a car engine, the break-in process creates metallic wear particles. That first oil change is the most critical, and in a big way, determines how long your engine (or compressor) will last. You only need a very tiny bottle of compressor oil, (It only holds like 4 Oz). Easy to change with just a pair of pliers or adjustable wrench for the drain plug, just drain it into an empty plastic water or soda bottle. Cheap insurance to ensure a long life. You can see the oil through the sight plug, when it starts to get dark, change it. I have changed mine twice since then, and I've gotten this thing so hot, several times, running almost non-stop for an hour or more at a time, and figured it would die. Nope! I am very satisfied with it. Kind of noisy, (what compressor isn't?). Thinking the air filter inlet could be modified to flow more air, (to improve the performance). Overall glad I took the time to research and select this unit. Highly recommend it, unless you need a larger unit. The best small household compressor you will find, and under $100 on sale. Oh, and it holds air pressure forever! I haven't used it in a month, it's been unplugged, and it still has 100# in the tank.

Cheap but works.
Let me start by saying that - based on the low price - I did not expect a high quality product made in the US, all I wanted was a little compressor to fill tires and maybe use air tools occasionally. I was still a little disappointed, the first issue was the assembly of the handle: It is held in place with two screws, one of which was cross-threaded out of the box. And that was actually the better one of the two, because the other had fallen off the compressor and was loose in the box, with no sign of the washer and lock-washer present on the stuck screw. After filling the compressor with the supplied oil (which was nice - certain discount stores make you buy the oil separately), the compressor fired right up. That's where the next problem started: The rubber feet of the compressor are so hard that they don't absorb any vibrations, so while the motor is running, the compressor moves around the garage as far as permitted by the power cable or any accessories attached. It looked pretty funny, actually, I should have made a video. Finally, the quick-connect for the air seems to be a little bit off, it requires an enormous amount of force to insert the mating connector. But I might replace that anyway, since there is no air shut-off valve installed either. In summary, this is the usual low-quality tool you would expect at a discount store, with a little extra customer service (and warranty), with a couple of fixable problems, but it does work.

Good value

I bought this for light work around the house. Seems to be more than sufficient for what I need it for. Got it on sale so definitely worth the price.

gauge off +10 psi 125 psi compressor?

From what I see, considering reading from other gauges, the main gauge is off by 10 psi. I use it to fill a second 135 psi rated 5 gal. tank. Neither the gauge for that tank, which I installed, nor the regulated outlet gauge can ever quite go beyond 120-125. It is not really the same thing as 135 psi It great because you can dial in the pressure you want to release , 125 psi max. When you are filling another tank, the auto shut off won't allow it to kick back in until . . .about 110-115 psi which may in fact be 100-105 psi. It is a pain filling the other tank. You have to release air to get it past the auto shut off, I do not know why they didn't make the action on this a little bigger because it is noisy enough to be 1.5 horsepower at least. Other than these few minor issue this is a great tool.

Portable and handy

Versatile little compressor. Works great for airing tires and inflatables. You will need to buy extra couplings and plugs to be able to use other attachments. When running the vibration has a. Tendency to make the compressor walk a little so it would be advisable to secure better in place. Have not used with my air guns yet but should be fine for intermittent nailing. Bought on sale so great bang for the buck!

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Good little compressor

Small enough to tote around. Little too quiet when it gets close to set pressure. Can't hear air going in tires very well. Only issue I have!
