Overall

Good precision

After looking at vises at other big box stores, I bought this vise as a companion to Sears 10 inch drill press. It is of much better construction than others that I examined. It is great for accurately drilling small parts. Clamp it to the work surface and drill with confidence.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Parts??

The vise is good quality for the price... except the jaws on my vise were damaged, and I can't find anywhere to buy the (2) jaw plates as a set. They are part numbers 6863.00 and 6864.00. The latter is the slotted plate, the most important, and SearsDirectParts.com lists it as no longer available. The other one (a plain piece of steel with two holes in it) is listed for $7.49 (!!!!), but that doesn't help with the set.

General Purpose Craftsman 3 in. Drill Press Vise

Another tool purchased for a specific task in mind, but, as usual, it has become quite adaptable to many of the tasks I go to my drill press for. We bought this to drill into a metal block for a broject my son was working on and regular clamps just weren't doing the trick so we bought the vise. Not only did it hold that hunk of steel but it also hods our pen blanks as well!

The vise is not real big but it is as strong as many larger vises I've used in the past and we can bolt it down to the drill press table with ease. Vise grips well and is easy to open/close.

Another versatile tool from Craftsman!

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Great Vise

Terrific quality and just the perfect size for what I needed it for. Be sure to get the factory bolt kit (it's worth the $9.99 in my book).
