Good tool but breaks easily

The black release slider will eventually fall off. Mine lasted 9 months. Other than that, its a great tool. It holds sockets securely and releases them easily.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Good tool, but breaks easily

I like the quick release on this extension better than others that have the thick collar on them. However, the black release slide will break off eventually. Mine lasted about 9 months. I will buy another though. Other than that it holds the socket very well and releases it easily.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

extension

nice little 1/4" extension. the quick release doesn't really make anything easier, but if you find for a discounted price it is good to have just as another extension in your toolbox.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Perfect for those tight spaces.

This 1/4 dr. extension comes in very handy allowing you to get to those tight spaces that require small sockets. The quick release feature makes removing sockets very easy, especially when you have greasy hands.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

locking mechanism not great

This is a simple 3" long 1/4 drive socket extension.

It was required to open the locking mechanism to install the socket onto the extension but the socket was not locked on and would come off without requiring a release. I tried this with the second of the two 3" extensions I purchased and with different sockets. In all attempts the socket would come off without requiring you to manually release the socket.

Very Smooth Finish...

I spend a great deal of my spare time in the garage. Together with my son, Nathan (age 27) we buy and restore 1980 era Porsches. Nathan is the real mechanic in the family. I pretty much offer moral support and fetch tools.

Most people would tell you that these import cars are a nightmare to work on. We haven't found that to be the case. The mechanical design of these high-performance vehicles is pretty straight-forward. That is a hallmark of the German craftsman and engineers that have developed them. It is true, however that these engineers are extremely efficient with their use of space under the hood. Large engine, small chassis and very light-weight create an environment that is sometime complicated to work in.

We have learned that the best way to deal with this challenge is to own a complete collection socket accessories. Through the use of various extension bars, adapters and universal joints we can replicate the wrench configuration that was originally used to assemble the vehicle. Craftsman calls these tools accessories! I don't think that's right! The term accessary, to me, implies that it is a "nice extra" but not really necessary.

Take it from me, if you are going to perform much mechanical work on a 1983 Porsche 944, a complete set of socket accessories is NOT optional.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Overall
A nice little accessory.

I bought this extender to replace the extender that came with my original socket set.  My set is a Husky, sorry Craftsman, but I like this piece. Made in the USA, a lifetime warranty, and a socket lock and release button which is a nice feature.  Plus, it was on sale, and I got my Shop Your Way Rewards.  Bonus!

I would recommend this product to a friend.
