Craftsman 3 pc. Nail Set

Crown molding...what a job!  If you do crwon and use nails then you will need to set them!  We used a pneumatic nail gun and still needed to set a couple of them and without this tool, well, you're out of luck!

Seven dollars is a cheap price to pay for a tool that will save you more than that in pain and suffering!

Stock Picture is Misleading
The nail sets are made int he USA -- but they do not have the Craftsman logo on them as pictured in the stock photo -- my worry is over time, if I need a replacement, I am not sure how to "prove" they are Craftsman brand.

Nice set!

I used these little babies to counter sink some nails in my older deck out back. Right out of the package you can feel the weigh behind each individual one. They definitely worked great for my job!

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Adequate, lacking features of comparable competitors

These are fine tools but lack very desirable features found on products comparable in price from other quality brands. The most annoying deficiency is the total absence of a size indicator, when other brands offer at least clear labeling if not bright colored markers. Likewise, impact dampening rubberized grips are also common and would improve the product. The bare bones approach makes more sense in the cold chisels and punches often sold alongside these tools but not in the nail sets themselves.

Good gift

I gave this item as a gift, the recipient didn't have this item. With three sizes, hopefully this will cover everything he needs.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

standard duty must have tools

these are not fancy but every home toolbox needs a basic set of nail punches. you can use them to remove pins, use for nail or screw guides prior to screwing or nailing and of course, nail punches to hide the nail heads for that finished, professional look.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Strong and Useful (I Wish They Were Color Coded Though)

I actually own two complete sets of these Craftsman Nail Sets.  One I bought a couple of years ago and one that I found inside my father's Craftsman Toolbox that I received when he passed away.  His set has to be at least 30 - 35 years old and maybe older.

The two sets are identitical.  They haven't changed a bit over the decades.

His set shows a little more wear.  I can't really attribute that to their age though.  I think more likely it is due to him having used his more.  I use mostly air-powered nailers in the shop which automatically sets the nail.  This is a luxury he never enjoyed.

If Craftsman asked my advice on how to improve this tool, all I would offer is that they color code the 3 various sizes to make identification easier.  They could use the Craftsman colors of Red, Black and Professional Yellow,

I would recommend this product to a friend.
