Great Utility for the Price
Purchased this set a month ago for occasional backyard mechanic tasks, mostly light automotive. After using them to replace a thermostat recently, I can report that they perfomed perfectly; the fine grained / short throw of these ratchets was especially welcome because I didn't have a lot of room in which to work (a common problem for me when working on cars). The Titanium set (these are a bright matte finish) is better looking, but these are a great value for the money, especially considering the lifetime warranty. Definitely recommended for those who want decent tools for occasional home projects.

Poor quality control
The ratchets had multiple nicks in the chrome plating. For the price you would expect them to at least look good before you take them out of the package to use. If they look this bad new I can only imagine what they will look like after using them.

Are they really professional?

Great ratchets when they work. I've had to have all of them replaced or serviced multiple times. The funny things is I've had a set of the cheaper ones for over 20 years that have never given me one problem.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

great ratchets for the money

love the design they are easy on your hands and have a lil finer teeth and operate smoother than the standard craftsman ratchets. the flush release button on the back is also a nice feature making it harder to accidentally bump and also easier to wipe clean when your done.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Thin profile ratchet

So far so good. Nice heavy duty wrench set. These are solid feeling ratchets that have been put through a pretty rugged beating in automotive school. Thay have held up pretty good. I picked this set up on craftsman day sale for a really great price so I couldn't pass it up.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Great ratchet set at a special price!

Just picked this set up for $49.99 during Craftsman Club week April 2012. What a deal! These are a great set...and still made in USA. (my set indicated the ratchets are from USA, the packaging from China) My standard Craftsman ratchets work fine, but occasionally the finer throw of these will come in very handy. I had been looking at these for a while, but had to jump when they were featured in the sale this week. Thanks Sears! Now if I can only get my targeted 26" Griplatch tool chests to go on sale.....

I would recommend this product to a friend.

If you can find the US versions of these, they are really nice!

I have 2 sets of these, both made in the US. One set is the 80th anniversary versions that came in a special 80th anniversary tool set - those are packed away because they may be valuable someday. I have a "working" set that I use all the time and they are really nice - beautiful, comfortable handles and really smooth action. It's really a shame that they are now made in China. One of the Sears stores near me still has a US made set - snag 'em if you can folks, because once they are gone you'll have to move up to the 84 teeth models to get a US made ratchet from Craftsman.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Overall
American Craftsman quality, good price

I am outfiiting a new maintenance department, and was given a decent budget to work within. So far, all of the hand tools I have purchased have been Craftsman. I bought this ratchet set, and although I have only used it three times, I am very pleased. A comfortable grip, and a smooth ratcheting action make this a desirable addition to any toolbox. If only I had pruchased Craftsman for my home workshop.............
