Seems heavy duty but 1 wheel isn't touching the floor like the other 3, still rolls fine but I haven't used it yet, will do my oil change this summer and see how it goes.
I purchased this jack to replace a Torrin Big Red 3 ton jack that won't hold a load anymore. It sinks about 1cm in about 10 seconds. This jack bears an uncanny resemblance to the Torrin jack. Either they're made by the same company, or one was copied off of the other with just a few design changes to not step on someone's patent (just a speculation). Side by side, the craftsman jack takes more pumps to raise the load. I kind of like this because it makes the pumping action easier. The power unit (piston) must be the exact same manufacturer because the graphic sticker showing how to purge the unit is the same on both brands. Given the price of this I purchased at $85 in store compared to the $135 for the Torrin, I'm happy for now. There were no extended warranties available from sears for this... wonder why based on all the reviews, so I will be checking the operation of this jack monthly. I will say, the Craftsman instructions were MUCH more clear, especially the air purge procedure. I could not figure out how to do it with the Torrin jack. I picked this jack because hopefully if I ever have an issue I will take it back to the store. With the Torrin, my only option is to ship it to California from the East coast which will cost as much as the jack itself before repair. Given the track record of both brands of jacks, I don't know if there's a good alternative.
I use this jack probably once a month or more to lift all of my cars for service. But it is used mostly on my Jeep which I need a Jack that would lift at tall points. This jack has never failed, or slipped even when fully extended. Following the simple instructions on how to prep the jack is a great idea to do at least every few times you lift. Great jack for my use, I'd by this again. Love craftsman products.

Near as I can tell this is the same jack I got 35 years ago. I wouldn't have needed this one except it is not designed to permit replacement of the $1 O-ring seal on the piston. So 100 pounds of perfectly good steel went into recycle. The reality is I won't live 35 more years to see this one fail.
