Repair Technican's most used tool!

I've used the Craftsman 3.6 volt Cordless ScrewDriver for many years. No, not the same one. But when I do buy a replacement -- the old one owes me nothing! I use the light to find the holes for screws in dark places under the appliances I am fixing. I can use one screwdriver several times a day for 2 to 3 days before it needs to be recharged.

I've compared this to another 3.6 volt screwdriver that didn't last the day and couldn't compare to the torque this Craftsman has. This Craftsman cordless screwdriver won't drill holes, but then, it's not a drill. It will drive self-tapping screws into sheet metal though!

My customers are always asking where they can get one (and I tell them!). I'm going back to buy another. I just bought two different 3.6 volt models, but they just don't compare. I've also tried higher voltage screwdrivers, but the extra weight didn't compensate for the compact size and ease of use of this Craftsman 3.6 volt Cordless ScrewDriver!

Average performance, annoying weakness
I bought two of these. I like the fact it can swivel from straight to angled for those tight places. It has sufficient power to handle light duty fastnening. The light is gimmicky, but handy now and then. The reason I can't recommend this is due to the flimsy, easily broken bit retainer spring. Both drivers' bit retainer spring broke in <10 uses, and now the bits fall out easily. Very annoying each time you tilt the driver downwards, the bit just falls right out. I have to use a bit of tape to now snug the bit in socket. Sears doesn't sell spring parts seperately.

expect 1 year battery life

The first year for this item was wonderful. After that, the battery would not hold a charge, and of course the warranty period is over. Throw away.

Great little screwdriver!

This is an outstanding little screwdriver. It has plenty of power for most household jobs and the pivoting handle makes things easier. The light has come in handy numerous times.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Craftman Cordless Screwdriver

handy little tool with a very good price. And of course the Craftsman name.It would be nice if they would buy one at work for me.Craftsman is a much better tool, than the stuff they used to carry at Kmart. You don't have to recommend it to a freind, everyone has heard of Craftsman tools.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Overall
Craftsman 3.6 volt cordless screwdriver is very disappointing

Having owned several Craftsman 19.2 volt cordless tools I had high expectations for this cordless screwdriver. While the pivoting handle is very convenient, the battery life can only be described as absymal. I've only had this tool for about 6 months but I need to recharge after every use and I only use it for very light duty jobs. I have a Dewalt 18volt impact driver for heavier work so the Craftsman is not overstressed at all. I'm going to dump this tool and try the Black and Decker 6 volt driver which has had very good reviews.

3.6 volt Craftsman cordless screwdriver

I can only use this driver for 6 or 7 screws before it goes dead, will return for another one and see if it operates any better.
