I work mostly on diesel Mercedes and Land Rovers [hobby, not job]. For the diesels there's a lot of torque needed as the engines are built like panzer tanks to handle the high compression ratios, in the hand these tools feel well up to the task. There are plenty of other things that would have been nice in the set, but that's what expansion modules are for and we do only have 300 pieces to play with here. What's supplied will certainly get you on the right track without breaking the bank, there's not so many fluff or filler items in the 300 count. A 50% off sale price plus an available $60 coupon yields a very attractive price point. Continued.....

I've been collecting odds and ends tools for many years and finally decided to get a really nice starter set that I can build on. I saw the modules in the catalog and figured that was the best way to go as well as the most economical. I bought this set at a big discount and then got even more of a discount online so 1 positive there. No complaints as I'm not worried about the make-up as I've already added 2 more modules. The one complaint in regards to the tools themselves is I wish they were laser etched, old eyes aren't what they used to be, as pretty much all the other sets are providing the easy-read sockets now. The packaging was less than desirable as well, no rhyme or reason to how it is all put in the box. It would be nice if Sears included socket and wrench holders in their kits as well. I had two poorly labeled tools, working with Sears to get that remedied now as the store did not carry one of them.

Great set as a base, I have expanded with higher modules, since first getting this set. It did make a great foundation to build my set on.

After opening the 309 piece tool set and finding out there wasn't any regular end wrenches I returned it and got the 300 piece set. It hass combo end wrenches, open end wrenches and flare end wrenches is both SAE and Metric sizes. There is also nut drivers and some screwdrivers to get you started.

This seems as though it will work out great for my needs. There are a few issues I believe anyone would have a problem with after paying hundreds of dollars. The packaging is extremely poor. The tools are all disorganized, thrown into plastic bags, and thrown into a cardboard box. I'm missing a combination wrench that I'll have to call about tomorrow. The 10'' extension has a factory defect as well. I'm sure Sears will fix their errors.

Very nice set!! Has everythiing you'll need unless your working on a 747.... Crafstman,I feel,is the most bang for your buck. I work in the Aerospace Industry, and sure some people have spent 10x this much for their tools, but I bought these for the garage and I am certain they will fit the bill!! My only complaint was, when I opened the box there were 10-12 bags full of tool and they were in no certain order.... each bag had multiple different items in each bag. It took alomost 2 hours to go through everything and make sure I had all the pieces. Not a huge deal, just WAY less organized than I thought it would be....

This is great set of high-quality tools. These tools are built to last and have an unconditional lifetime guarantee. As of November 2010, all of these tools are made in the USA. When you get your tools, I recommend you perform a full inventory. My 300-piece set came with only 299 pieces. There was no issue getting Sears to provide the missing tool, but I'm glad I checked.
