309 Piece Socket & Ratcheting Wrench Set
For $198.00 I couldn't pass up the deal. Box states "Assembled in USA with Foreign & Domestic Parts". All the sockets and Ratchets handles are marked "Made in USA". So I guess you have to take it for what it's worth. I know some of the other Craftsman hand wrenches state "Made in China". So you have to be careful and look. I only buy "Made in USA" Craftsman wrenches.

Ratcheting wrenches made in China.
I bought this set at the $199 price about a month ago, but was disappointed to find that the ratcheting wrenches were made in China. Really Sears? I didnt want to return the set because I wanted the sockets, so the ratcheting wrenches went on Craigslist. Unfortunately, I can not recommend this set to anyone until it is 100% made in USA. I refuse to have any chinese hand tool in my tool box.

Almost perfect

I would say it is perfect, but I really wish the hex wrenches came with a case to organize them and that the whole set came with a molded organizer. People have mixed feeling about the organizer often saying they fall out of the main tool box too easily, or they are so hard to pull out that the trays spill their contents when they finally slide out. Personally I find those organizer trays handy, even if I just put them onto a shelf or in the drawer of my main tool chest. What is included in the set was all there, every piece of the 309 was in the box. When I did an inventory it was strange the way they were packaged. You would think all the deeps would be packaged togerther, or all the 3/8 together. Mostly they are packaged together but there were a few random out of place pieces in the packaging, but it was all there. At times I thought I was going to have to go to Sears to say I was missing pieces. It wasnt though. It was all there. All american made, no complaints.

Good Set of Tools But a Mess to Organize

Bought this set on a 50% off sale. If you paid $400 for this set then you should feel pretty sick. This is a good set of tools but its by all means not worth $400. If it came in a nice tool box then may it would be worth $300. Once you get this set of tools youre going to look at it and be all excited, then realize you have no way to properly organize these sockets. Its just a ridiculous amount of sockets to not come with some sort of organization. I got some SYWR points when I bought the set ($30) so I used that to buy the 3 piece craftsman socket organizer set and some extra clips. That didnt touch it so I've bought 3 more sets and several packs of extra clips. Probably have around $60 in these socket racks and clips just to organize these sockets. Craftsman needs to make a tool box for these sockets or a special drawer organizer that works with this set of tools. The ones they make wont hold near enough sockets. Otherwise, everything is made in USA except the ratcheting wrenches.

Great Starter Set for the Price

Good Basic starter set but for metric, needs to have torx sockets!sears needs a complete torx set! not 2 or 3 small sets, makes it look like price gouging to get a complete set!

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Great value

This set of tool has everything you need. I love that it comes with ratcheting wrenches instead of standard. It worked out great, I already have a big toolbox and just need the tools to fill it. So I didn't have to pay extra for this kit because all the tools come loose not in a toolbox that wouldn't be very useful to me like every other kit I saw.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Nicely priced for what what it is

Purchased this for $179.00 ordering from the web. It's not SnapOn or Matco tools, but for the price and lifetime warranty you can't beat it.

Disappointing Tool Set

I have a set of Craftsman tools I purchased in 1970 or 1971 that I still have and use. I have been very pleased with this set from day one, however the 309 piece set was not the quality tool set I expected from Craftsman. The sizes on the sockets are very hard to read, sometimes requiring a magnifying glass . I was also disappointed with the makeup. There is 69 1/4" drive sockets,93 3/8"drive sockets, and only 39 1/2" drive sockets. There is 40 hex keys and 32 screwdriver and nutdriver bits which does not leave many other tools.

Lots of sockets!

This set is fully made in the USA - I was surprised to see that. Comes with a lot of sockets. A full 1/4" set (SAE and Metric) and a full 3/8" set (SAE + Metric + 6/12 point). There are a lot of tools. Got it when it was on sale for $170. Great deal.

I would recommend this product to a friend.
