I bought two of these things....returned the first one because it wouldn't fire. Got the same model, used it three times and the pull starter broke. I am officially done with Craftsman. When they start making quality items in the USA again, I may buy something else but for the moment, if it's not made in the USA, I'm not buying it!

There were two main reasons I bought this trimmer: 1) it uses straight gas, and 2) it is attachment capable. The unit is a little awkward due to the weight of the motor causing some balance issues, but I purchased the shoulder strap and that greatly helped keep it balanced and level.
My previous Craftsman 2-cycle gas trimmer lasted 6 years, so I opted to replace it with another Craftsman - this time the 4-cycle with curved shaft that my attachments would still fit. My new unit ran fine twice, and the third time the engine froze - the pull cord fully locked and unusable. So I returned it for an exact replacement, and the second unit has run rough (even after proper choking steps per the directions and warm up) so that mid- to full-throtttle results in extreme hesitation and stalls. Suffice it to say this second unit is going back today and after two attempts, I'm afraid my days with Craftsman trimmers are over.
