I just took this weedeater for a 3rd time to get repaired in a little more than a year. Like other comments here, I've had nothing but problems with this product. 1.) It is difficult to start 2.) Loses power when you squeeze the trigger to full throttle 3.) When you switch attachments you will be lucky if it turns back on. I can only hope a manager can do something when this thing fails again. Though it's still under warranty it's becoming too much of pain and I would buy something else if You are considering this item.
So far I am pleased with this multi use trimmer. The power on it is amazing! Sounds like a turbo jet when at full throttle. This is my second one as to the first one died out after three months with an afternoon of extreme heavy use. I did receive a brand new one and bought the extended warranty for 3 years. The only attachment I have bought so far is the hedge trimmer and absolutely love it. It buzzes through everything!!!
After reading ALL the reviews, I was concerned if this weedwacker would adequately replace my 32cc Craftsman Bushwacker. Like other reviews say, small engine repair shops will laugh at you...not worth repairing. These are throw-away machines! I wanted the best possible quality, but could not afford a Stihl or Echo. This weedwacker was $113 on sale. I took a chance. So here's what I know so far... *It was easy to unpack and assemble. *It started on the 4th pull, and every time since. Just follow the directions printed on the weedwacker!! If you're having trouble, then you're probably not reading. *It idles like any other weedwacker I've owned. It's not a Cadillac, it's a 2-stroke. If you're not happy, then I suggest a simple adjustment. Look it up on YouTube. Needlenose to the carb. *If you don't run it with pre-mixed fuel, you're crazy!!! Buy some! Works great!! And no corrosive ethanol!! No smoke, high horsepower! *I use it with an EZ load string system to run it with heavier string. If you purchase that, use instructions for CURVED shaft installation. 1-2-3. *My gas cap leaked!! Until I realized that I could tighten it further. Torque it down....it's fine!!! When you think it is tight, go further!! *It does not bog down. If it does, then look on YouTube for an easy fix!! Did a huge job right out of the box, and I'm thrilled. Already paid for itself twice-over. Listen, all I have to say is, if you want more than this guy has to offer, then spend 3x more on a Stihl or Echo. I love this machine, and I only spent $113. (Plus tax). Good luck!

Item is lacking power for a 31cc engine, it cuts off when you increase the throttle and it was hard to start.

Added gas and was off and running. Much easier to start than the multi-step process suggested. Powerful, smooth-running, a bit heavy but balanced. I switched from a curved-shaft model and can now reach places I couldn't before.
I received this as a Xmas gift as I normally don't like anything I have to pull. Well,, my suspicians were correct. this weedwacker was bad from the start, I followed directions closely and thought this is way too many steps to start anything. I finally got it started and it ran for about 15 minutes and then died, I could not get it started again that day. The next time I tried it (a few days later) again had a tough time starting, and again it ran for about 10 minutes and died. Couldn't get it restarted to finish the job.
Trimmer needs to be primed and choked and will start as described right out of the box. Interchangeable shaft accepts other implements from different brands I have burned up or worn out the motors on. It's a little heavy, but is quite powerful - Does what it is supposed to do. Good machine for the money
