      Happy Customer!
After reading ALL the reviews, I was concerned if this weedwacker would adequately replace my 32cc Craftsman Bushwacker. Like other reviews say, small engine repair shops will laugh at you...not worth repairing. These are throw-away machines! I wanted the best possible quality, but could not afford a Stihl or Echo. This weedwacker was $113 on sale. I took a chance. So here's what I know so far... *It was easy to unpack and assemble. *It started on the 4th pull, and every time since. Just follow the directions printed on the weedwacker!! If you're having trouble, then you're probably not reading. *It idles like any other weedwacker I've owned. It's not a Cadillac, it's a 2-stroke. If you're not happy, then I suggest a simple adjustment. Look it up on YouTube. Needlenose to the carb. *If you don't run it with pre-mixed fuel, you're crazy!!! Buy some! Works great!! And no corrosive ethanol!! No smoke, high horsepower! *I use it with an EZ load string system to run it with heavier string. If you purchase that, use instructions for CURVED shaft installation. 1-2-3. *My gas cap leaked!! Until I realized that I could tighten it further. Torque it down....it's fine!!! When you think it is tight, go further!! *It does not bog down. If it does, then look on YouTube for an easy fix!! Did a huge job right out of the box, and I'm thrilled. Already paid for itself twice-over. Listen, all I have to say is, if you want more than this guy has to offer, then spend 3x more on a Stihl or Echo. I love this machine, and I only spent $113. (Plus tax). Good luck!

Seems fine at first but after a year its junk
I have had this weed eater ~ 1-2 years and its already broken. Besides not wanting to run at full throttle the pull start is broke. Apparently this is really common but if you dont have a warranty its a min of $70 just for sears to look at it. PLus parts and any additional labor. Save your money and buy a echo or stihl.

I purchased this weed eater because I prchased a pole saw attachment and needed a 2 cycle motor to run the pole saw. My 4 cycle weed eater is te motor of choice for power but it can't run upside down with causing damage to the motor.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Craftsman 31cc Str Shft READ THIS IF YOU HAVE ONE

This is a Ryobi 725r with Sears modifications, failed out of the box, would start but not run, died when I pulled the trigger...but, I'm a small engine mechanic, adjusted the carb needle valves, you need a special or homemade tool, search online, now it screams on full throttle. This is the same, exactly like my 14 yr old Ryobi 725r that runs great, starts 1st pull and I also have an 18yr Ryobi 790r that still runs, both with very heavy usage....Bought this one as new but it was a return/refurbished on sale $125 + $50 ext 3yr maintenance plan $189.42 w/tax, I KNEW IT was a return, me and salesman smelled gas in the tank at the store, some assembly was already done, HOWEVER, Last one left, only 3 left in Tx, due to epa...no more 31cc powerful trimmers will be manufactured. Nothing on this I cannot fix, IMPORTANT...USE 32:1 gas mix, 4oz to 1-Gal. Not 40:1, 3.2oz per Gal as Sears, instructions says, more epa regs, fyi...the "Incredi-pull plastic glued on cover on the pull rope handle fell off after 2nd usage, ha ha craftsman, use better glue, oh well, got my big engine trimmer and can run other attachments, tiller, edger, blower, pruner, brush cutter, will use exclusively and heavily until 3yrs is up.

Last weedwacker I will purchase from Sears!!!!!!!!

Used this weedwacker for one season (2013)...started having starting problems before the grass cutting season was over. Has not started at all this cutting season (2014)....a piece of JUNK...I am about ready to let Sears go FOREVER.

      Consistently happy with this purchase

Every time I pick this thing up I think to myself, "Man, I'm glad I bought this one." It starts easily usually on the 1st or 2nd pull. Even after sitting 6 months over the winter it started right up 2 years in a row. I'm glad I went with the larger engine over one of the smaller ones as it has plenty of power and I'm not sure a 25cc would work as well. The straight shaft and bump feed head are what I grew up using so this one is no different. I am not someone who is gentle on their tools and this thing hasn't seemed to mind so far. I haven't tried any of the other attachments but I'm glad that the option is there.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

      Get what you pay for...

Picked this up on sale...it's probably good for one heavy season, but will likely be replaced with a more substantial weedeater. I have not had the best of luck with the last 2 Craftsman weedeaters, although they have been the cheapest straight shafts they offer. I will spend a bit more on something that will last longer next time I buy.

      Well balanced!

Use thicker string, works well. Only downside...not much on the spool if working on an area against brick or fencing so had to stop and add additional string.

      BUYER BEWARE!!!!

I bought one and used it 3 times and it locked up on me after only 2 weeks. I returned it and had to order another replacement. this one lasted only about 4 times before doing the same thing, but because it was just outside the return policy I had to send it in for repairs. they told me that the repair costs are more than double what I paid and I told them that I did not want another one and they are suppose to be replacing it with the next model up. Let's see if they come through with that!
