Some of the reviews on here are skeptical about the blower. Yes it's not a top grade professional-use backpack blower, but then again do you need it? I don't, but I got tired of waving a handheld around. The 4-cycle is reallllly nice, makes keeping gas on hand easier. The blower maybe could put out some more airflow, but I fixed that by fabricating a smaller nozzle on the end of the circular one...made the opening even smaller by wrapping a sheet of plastic around it in a conical shape, thus, more velocity. Cleared my backyard of leaves fairly easy. Straps are comfortable and it's not too loud...friction lock to keep the trigger pulled is nice. Unit starts on the first or second pull, no issues!
Ran well for the first year of ownership. Used weekly for clean up after mowing a 1 acre yard, plus some additional hours for leaf clean up in the fall. One afternoon while in use, the engine began losing power and then ceased operating. Tried fresh gas, cleaned out the carburator, checked and regapped the spark plug. Nothing. After some previous difficulty with craftsman lawn equipment, I've decided never again to purchase a craftsman lawn product, or troy-built which makes this blower for sears.
I look for performance, very picky about that.I look for balance between over-all construction and the motor. Since I have the same Craftsman engine on my edger with the assist-start( from my electric drill if I need) I thought it would be a great buy.Waited till Octobers Fall lawn&garden sale@ $250. Good value! At first I thought the vibration at the lower edge of the back would be a issue,to my surprise I felt so relaxed when I finished blowing FIVE yards of my neighbors. It relaxed me. Plus one neighbor gave me a BIG bag of candy bars and another knitted a wool hat for me! This blower is not a high speed blower but is has a lot of volume CFM (cubic feet per minute).Think of it as pouring water out of a bucket compared to a skinny little hose nozzle on jet.setting. When on idle there is enough air coming out to blow the leaves off the sidewalk without EVEN pulling the throttle trigger! Amazing! I think SEARS should offer FREE attachment hook-up!.USE ONLY regular gas WITHOUT ethanol.
Not impressed with the blowing power, had to work harder with it as I do with my craftsman handheld blower which is rated at 200 mph while the back pack blows a little 100 mph. However impressed with ease of starting one pull and its on. Lightweight, belly strap wide enough for my girth, The cruise control is slipping will not lock out at full throttle. First one I have owned took the written review of a 20 year veteran who I believed knew a little something only to realize he may have been more comfortable with 20 years of technique rather than actual power. overall a good experience cant afford the Stihl product or the Echo so this will have to do. This is not a professional tool my trees don't know the difference.

A great way to clean up the leaves and debris in your yard without the hassle of mixing gas and oil. This unit has plenty of power to blow those leaves out of the yard.

Good little workhorse. Great that it runs on gas only no oil mixing. Starts easily. Only problem is that it seems to have a small amount of oil coming out by the air filter. This doesn't seem to hurt performance but feel I will need to keep constant check on oil level.

I've been very happy with all the Craftsman (Troybilt) 4 cycle blowers. I have a hand held and we also bought one for my father in law. They start easily and have been trouble free for several years now. Just bought the backpack style because it would be easier for my wife to use. So far works great. It is more powerful than the handheld 4 cycle version. It's so nice not having to mix gas with the 2 cycle oil...I doubt I'll ever by another 2 cycle blower/trimmer again.
I've only used it a few times after cutting the lawn, but so far so good. Not having to mix gas and oil is worth the little extra money. It's also really really easy to start. It's no commercial blower but it works very well for me!
