Great Craftsman Trimmer
Bought this trimmer because of the 4-cycle and aluminum boom. Plus I've always had Craftsman product. This thing really cuts well. It also has a handle that moves in a bunch of positions. Craftsman is keeping up its brand with this one.

I am truly disappointed in this item. The gas trimmer its self is probably a good unit. Had I been informed as to the decitated trim line I would not have purchased the unit. If I had not used the unit or disposed of the boxes I would have returned the unit. I can not recommend this unit do to the large waste of cord wasted each use.

Weed whacker

I am a royal user of Craftsman garden tools. I bought this one because the old one can only start for a few seconds. The new weed whacker can start easy than old one. I hope that this one can last longer.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Reliability Issues

I had my previous craftsman 4 strok trimmer for over 12 years with litterally no issues until it's final demise. Rather than replace/repair the engine I figured a new similar unit was in order. I ordered this online and upon delivery I had my first problem. The trimmer head was very noisy and seemed stiff. I called for a replacement but was told because I purchased online I could only take it to a service center. I pursued the issue and was finally offered a replacement gearbox be sent to my home. So from the get go I had to repair my new unit, or take it so a service center and be without it for a couple of weeks. So after repair, I used it two more times and it happened. The pull cord got jammed up inside the starter housing. Since the owner's manual has no parts breakdown I called for service. The person on the other end said she could Email me instruction on replacing the starter housing so I figured I was good to go. The Email was useless stating basically remove screws, remove old starter housing and replace with the new one. I did take it apart and unwound the pull cord, however was unable to get the tension proper as it appears you need a special tool to keep the tension when replacing the starter. So off to the service center for repair....14 days withough use. I called to do a return on this but because the 30 days were up, I was told I could not. I informed them of the issue I had right out of the box and they still would not take the unit back for refund. I escalated to two different supervisors/managers and was told there was nothing they could do. So I'm stuck with it now. I hope it holds up when I get it back next week...hopeuflly.

Awesome trimmer! So easy to start it took just one pull to start up.

No bother with mixing oil and gas and wondering if the mixture is correct. Has loads of power for cutting the heaviest of weeds. It is a snap to trim just grass. Changing the string in the head required just a minute to remove the worn string and replace it with a new one. Just slides in and out. No rewinding of string on a spool and having it get all tangled up while you attempt to do it. Over all this is a great product.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Disappointed

Runs good, but oil leaks from oil level inspection window even when trimmer is not being used. Sent it in for service, after 3 weeks it came back annotated that it ran through a complete cycle and no defect was found. And the throttle lever was broken when I got it back. (I ordered and have received a new throttle lever.) Two weeks later I got a call from the service department saying my trimmer was fixed and ready to be picked up.

It is a tossup!

This unit is nice and I love the features. I purchased this unit, because I had one for six years and this attachments fit this new unit. I have had the new 32cc trimmer unit for a week, but I have a big concern on whether Craftsman over exaggerated the power again. I say again, because they done this with their lawn mowers and ended up in a class action lawsuit. It does not seem to have 32cc?s of power at all, I am wonder whether or not I received a defected unit. I hope I am wrong about this trimmer.

A Heavy Duty engine

This four cycle trimmer is one of the most powerful you can buy from the big box stores. Its only a little more expensive but it doesn't slow in heavy wacking ares.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Pull cord will not engage

Loved with weed eater for the first year, very powerful and smooth running. It is a bit on the heavy side but a fair trade with the amount of power. CON: when pulling the cord it does not engage the crankshaft. The pull cord still has spring tension and recoils the cord but doesn't "catch" to turn the crankshaft. Took it in for warranty repair....two week process btw, got it home and pulled it ten times...broke again. ALSO, the air filter cover screw is stripped out. It wasn't that way when I turned it in for repair. I'm going to drop it off for repair one more time and if it breaks again I'll be barking at a district manager.

Not worth the money! Use it for something else better....

I honestly think that every good review about this product was written to soon and they didn't give it time. For me I used it twice for about 15 minutes each time. The next time I went to start it the pull cord would not work had to take it into the shop. So they fixed it and I used it once again worked fine till I stopped for a minute went to start it up and would not go. Anyways got it back again and use it the head starts to vibrate next thing you know the gears stripped exactly what the salesman told after I bought it at the store. Really wish I bought an echo like our old one which is still going after 10+ years, or a shindaiwa. Hope this helps someone out there even if just one person not waste money like me.
