Product Description

Craftsman 33 Gallon 165 MAX PSI  Quiet Vertical Air Compressor

The 33 gallon 165 MAX PSI vertical air compressor delivers plenty of run time so you get jobs done faster.
It is oil free/maintenance free for ease of use.  With the large 33 gallon tank, oil free design, and easy portability because it has wheels,  this is the perfect compressor for all spray painting projects!.  It can also handle all inflation, light to medium automotive projects as well.  It also has a high flow regulator so when you need the full power of the compressor, you have it!

When you are done, all you have to do is wrap up the cord and wheel the compressor away on its two convenient wheels.   This 110-120 v, 15-amp air compressor even works with an extension cord, thanks to its low-voltage start up.

This Craftsman 33 gallon vertical air compressor has 2 quick connects that let you have 2 lines ready so you can switch between tools quickly and waste less time. The compressor recharges fast, giving you less down time between uses as well. Another convenient aspect of this tank is that you are able to store it in cold or warm conditions without risk of ruining it. This is thanks to the fact that it requires no oil or maintenance.

  • 33 gallon air compressor with wheels travels easily
  • The 110-120 v cord on this compressor lets you plug it into essentially any standard plug, including extension cords, because it has a low-voltage start up
  • The tank has a max storage psi of 165
  • Storing this tank in cool conditions is no problem because it does not require oil
  • This air compressor has quick connects so you can switch rapidly between pneumatic tools

Relatively quiet
In contrast to the last Craftsman compresser I bough (which is still working well after 10 years) this one is much quieter. Two quick connects for output allow you to set up one side to go through a filter or dehumidier while leaving the other side for inflating. Like most compressors this size, the drain on the bottom is difficult to reach. Spend $20 and replace this with an elbow, a 6" nipple and a ball valve and you will be able to easily bleed the water out of the bottom of the tank.

Died the first day I used it
We bought this compressor at the end of October. I unpacked it and plugged it in and it worked, but I didn't really use it until last month (March). After only an hour or two, it started throwing the breaker and shooting sparks out of the motor. I tired it on a dedicated 20 amp outlet and same thing happened - definitely a problem with the compressor. I loaded it up and took it back to Sears for a replacement. I understand things like this can happen and I didn't expect any problems. To my dismay, since it had been more than 60 days since I bought it, they wouldn't swap - I had to send it back to be repaired. That's when the nightmare began. Long story short, more than 4 weeks later they don't even have the parts yet. I've repeatedly requested them to just replace it, but they don't have the authority to make that decision. When (if) they finally fix or replace it, I'll grudgingly try it again. What choice do I have? I sure wish I had bought a different compressor from a different company. Even HF will quickly replace defective products. Good customer service can offset marginal products.

A solid compressor with one minor flaw

The Craftsman 33 gallon compressor is my second Craftsman compressor that I own. The other is a one gallon that I use for small things around the house. The 33 gallon sits in my garage and has worked great for everything that I have used it for. I used it for my pneumatic nail gun to finish my boys clubhouse. I used it recently to replace the struts on my van. Getting of the lug nuts was simple and easy. The only issue that I have with this compressor, and with almost every other compressor made these days is the drain valve. It is located on the very bottom and is very hard to access. Not just that, it is hard to tell which way opens it and closes it. The solve is to remove the drain valve bolt at the bottom, install a 1/4" street elbow, a 6" extender, and a shut off valve, and the problem is fixed. As I said, every compressor has this issue, not just this one.

165 psi air compressor

Relatively quiet for air compressor but really drops off pressure fast and almost immediately turns on with any use of air. Never seems to catch up with any air tool being used. Disappointing to have to stop every few minutes for catch up as pressure continues to decline. Would be fine for filling tires or impact wrench but not so good for real use.

Good So Far-Drain A Pain but fixable

Just bought it from Sears. It is made by Cambell-Hausfeld, a good manufacturer. The compressor is much quieter than the old one I had and though only run for a week so far, seems all it is advertised to be. The bottom drain had to go, you cannot reach it nor get your fingers around the ****. Replace it with an 1/4 NPT 90 degree elbow, then an extension 1/4 inch pipe (I used 6 inches) and a 1/4 to 1/4 male connector with the old drain. Now you can reach it easily, total cost about $6.00. Much cheaper than larger tires or putting it up higher as you still would need to kneel down to see the darn thing.

It's BIG

Haven't had the opportunity to use it yet, but it is huge! Much bigger than we thought. Hopefully that means it will work great. Craftsman is a good name so we aren't too worried.

Compressor

Opened the box , set it up and worked just fine. Have had it only about 2 weeks but so far it works just fine. Replaces a 20 year old one that was 130psi. Not as loud when running as the old one. Got it on sale, couldnt pass up on the price since the old one died about 3 weeks before.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Quiet & Great Price!

I replaced a 15 year old Craftsman Compressor with the 33 Gallon Vertical. Really much quieter than my old one. More than enough power for running impact gun and ratchet. Price is outstanding for a large home shop unit. Completely assembled out of the box. All I did was add a drain extension. Buy this and you will love it.
