      Product Description

Craftsman 33 Gallon 165 MAX PSI  Quiet Vertical Air Compressor

The 33 gallon 165 MAX PSI vertical air compressor delivers plenty of run time so you get jobs done faster.
It is oil free/maintenance free for ease of use.  With the large 33 gallon tank, oil free design, and easy portability because it has wheels,  this is the perfect compressor for all spray painting projects!.  It can also handle all inflation, light to medium automotive projects as well.  It also has a high flow regulator so when you need the full power of the compressor, you have it!

When you are done, all you have to do is wrap up the cord and wheel the compressor away on its two convenient wheels.   This 110-120 v, 15-amp air compressor even works with an extension cord, thanks to its low-voltage start up.

This Craftsman 33 gallon vertical air compressor has 2 quick connects that let you have 2 lines ready so you can switch between tools quickly and waste less time. The compressor recharges fast, giving you less down time between uses as well. Another convenient aspect of this tank is that you are able to store it in cold or warm conditions without risk of ruining it. This is thanks to the fact that it requires no oil or maintenance.

      • 33 gallon air compressor with wheels travels easily
      • The 110-120 v cord on this compressor lets you plug it into essentially any standard plug, including extension cords, because it has a low-voltage start up
      • The tank has a max storage psi of 165
      • Storing this tank in cool conditions is no problem because it does not require oil
      • This air compressor has quick connects so you can switch rapidly between pneumatic tools

      Relatively quiet
In contrast to the last Craftsman compresser I bough (which is still working well after 10 years) this one is much quieter. Two quick connects for output allow you to set up one side to go through a filter or dehumidier while leaving the other side for inflating. Like most compressors this size, the drain on the bottom is difficult to reach. Spend $20 and replace this with an elbow, a 6" nipple and a ball valve and you will be able to easily bleed the water out of the bottom of the tank.

Died the first day I used it
We bought this compressor at the end of October. I unpacked it and plugged it in and it worked, but I didn't really use it until last month (March). After only an hour or two, it started throwing the breaker and shooting sparks out of the motor. I tired it on a dedicated 20 amp outlet and same thing happened - definitely a problem with the compressor. I loaded it up and took it back to Sears for a replacement. I understand things like this can happen and I didn't expect any problems. To my dismay, since it had been more than 60 days since I bought it, they wouldn't swap - I had to send it back to be repaired. That's when the nightmare began. Long story short, more than 4 weeks later they don't even have the parts yet. I've repeatedly requested them to just replace it, but they don't have the authority to make that decision. When (if) they finally fix or replace it, I'll grudgingly try it again. What choice do I have? I sure wish I had bought a different compressor from a different company. Even HF will quickly replace defective products. Good customer service can offset marginal products.

      Great for home shop

Needed a compressor to do general auto work on my trucks. Wanted something relatively powerful to let me do repairs, which included an upcoming replacement of shocks, springs, entire hubs etc. Looked a the specs and found that this would drive most of the 1/4" tools that I was using. Comes almost ready to use. You need a good hose, I bought the 3/8' that was called for the impact wrench and ratchets. 50ft hose, fittings etc. The compressor doesn't come with any of this. Plugged it in, let the tank fill, shut it off and left it overnight to see if it has any leaks. No leaks, Used it to rotate my tires with the composite impact wrench from craftsman and was able to take 2 truck tires off without the compressor even going on. The compressor is relatively quiet, and fills quickly. Its not too large and fits nicely in my corner of the garage. So far so good. Finally no more taking tires off with a hand wrench..

Weld Seams Leak out of Box, HORRIBLE Manufacturing Quality. DON'T BUY!

Bought my first 33 gallon Craftsman compressor 2 weeks ago. Out of the box the bottom weld seam leaked air around where the wheel mount meets the tank. I gave Craftsman's china manufacturer the benefit of the doubt as the wheel was misaligned and I figured perhaps it fell off the back of a truck - even though the box wasn't visibly damaged. I returned the compressor and got a new one. Took it home and second one leaked out of the box - this time from the top weld seam on the tank. Unbelievable. What are the odds of getting 2 out of the box that leak at the welded seams? NO WAY ARE THEY TESTING THESE AT THE FACTORY! The tanks should be pressurized and submerged (leak tested) before the compressors are ever even mated to them. These are horribly manufactured and obvious lack any sort of actual testing or quality control at the factory. Buying one of these is taking a gamble on whether you just wasted close to $400. Don't waste your time or money!

Powerful and useful with some modifications

Run a drain extension out from the bottom as others have advised on here. Also, mine had some minor slow leaks from the factory. I took apart the regulator and fittings, wrapped in Teflon tape, and put back together. This compressor runs my impact wrench great without kicking on very often. Breaks tough lug nuts loose. I haven't tried it with other tools, but I am sure it will do fine. Pumps up a repaired tire very fast. Does take a little while to get to 165psi, but worth it when it does. got on sale for around $300. It is a great deal at this price. Far outperforms the cheap made compressor I got from HB and then returned.

      Best Current Craftsman Air Compressor

Purchased this after owning a 2 gallon Craftsman 1.5 Compressor for 7 years. Best bang for your buck especially when purchased on Sale at around $319. Used surprise points and coupons and got even cheaper. Very quiet compared to my old oiled compressor and other oilless compressors out there. 165 psi is really a plus in addition to the large capacity 33 gallon tank, you can run your air tools @ 90 psi longer. Lower models to include the 26 gallon does not have enough SCFM for most air tools to include the basic impact wrenches. Skip the lower models and purchase this one. You will not regret it!

You get what you pay for

I've owned this about two years, used about once per month. Its so loud I have to wear ear protection in the shop, or fill it, then unplug it and use the stored air...not good if I'm doing something that requires a lot of air. Anyway, yesterday the motor seized while filling the tank. Piston is not seized, its the motor. I managed to get motor to rotate by prying on the eccentric, but when I started it it immediately started shredding itself inside and froze after about two seconds....aluminum shavings flying everywhere. A replacement motor runs $260, nearly what I paid for the whole thing new. Never again, Sears, never again. Been burned too many times on Craftsman garbage.

      what I was looking for.

I was looking for an air compressor for my garage for a while now. I wanted something with a high pressure (165) is nice and a decent size tank. 33 gallons hopefully will be enough for running some air tools every now and then. It is short and rather compact, which surprised me, but am happy because it will fit nicely under my cabinets. I have not used it quite yet other than to run it one time and check that it was ok after receiveing it. The compressor runs fairly quite. A lot quieter than the pancake compressor that I have. It does take quite some time to bring the tank up to full pressure. I think it ran for about 15 minutes plus, but that was form a tank pressure of zero. I am hoping to run a impact wrench and or an air rachet. I know that there will be enough pressure (air supply) to run nail guns. Only thing I wish that this came with was a dryer and filer combo. I purchased this on sale and was happy with the price. the wheels make it nice to move around. The drian on the bottom is ok, bt there is not a ton of room to get your hand under there. I had to tilt the compressor forward to be able to open the drain. overall i am happy with the purchase and hope it will last a good long time.

I would recommend this product to a friend.
