I bought this compressor back on Black friday. After many attemps to fix leaks taking compressor back to store. They still did not fis leaks . I got me a spray bottle with soap to check for leaks. The check valve on top of tank was leaking. So i had to put teflon tape on threads. I didnt bother to take back to my local sears store because truck only runs on Fridays and since I have had so much experiance tanking tank in it takes three weeks to get it back. Its still under warrenty but why bother taking it back to store for service. This compressure is a piece on junk. It will not hold air overnight losing 50Lbs or more in one night. Check valve was not the only thing leaking . The metal plug on side of tank was also leaking. Here again I had to put teflon tape on threads. If you buy this compressor have plenty of teflon tape on hand. Also get a spray bottle with soap and water to test for leaks because after 4 times taking it back for warrenty service they havent fixed it. Yes, it tells you to drain tank after your done but to lose 50lbs or more in one night is absolutly crazy. Stay away from this model unless you like fixing leaks. Im sure they may sale some that dont leak but dont take that chance . Its really a pain to take it back to store and get no results. I would love to see how they test these tanks because whatever they do at these assembly plants its not working. Your better of getting another brand

Was hoping this would be enough to get me by until I could afford the large size i really wanted but have been dissappointed. Take long time to fill up. Yes this is oil less lubrication and is loud. Drain valve is a pain to get at and like many others have put the tank up on a stand. The drain valve area is in the most logical spot being the lowest point of the tank but even if the wheels and feet were large to hold the bottom of the tank higher off the ground would help out alot. Quality wise mid range had problems right away with it leaking and had a few gauges and valves replaced. No problems since.

I have had to replace the piston & ring set twice and the pressure switch once in the 3 years I've had mine. At about $220 for parts plus down time, I would recommend a cast iron oil-bath compressor, even at the loss of 115 V portability.

I'm happy so far with my compressor!! I upgraded from a 15 gallon Craftsman compressor which i've had for 12 years and it's still going strong. After reading the reviews i purchased a 5 year extended warranty for short money. They should send out this review after six months of ownership not six days. That way they will really get true feedback on the performance of their products. I've always had good luck with the Craftsmans name and look forward to doing bussiness with their products for years to come!!!

Well great price on sale, but if you think this is going to run an impact wrench your wrong.Don't get me wrong it does run the gun but will not crack rusted bolts. You need a two stage compressor for that. For the every once and a wile worker part time in my drive way mechanic works great.

GREAT COMPRESSOR A LITTLE LOUDER THAN I EXPECTED .IT TOOK A LITTLE BIT TO BUILD UP AIR BUT WHEN IT GOT UP TO PRESSURE WORKED FINE FOR WHAT I NEED IT TO DO GREAT COMPRESSOR FOR THE WEEKEND JOB'S AROUND THE HOUSE .

The motor winding just shorted out on my 30 gallon model. When I went to order a new motor or motor/pump assymbaly I find that Sears Craftsman no longer supports my model. So for those considering this item I would recommend that you go with a conventional air compressor.

I was surprised with the horsepower size of the motor. They are lower horsepower than older models. This compressor replaces one that was almost 20 years old and parts were obsolete. Two things I don't like about this is one, the tank sits so low to the floor that in order to open the pitcock you have to tip the whole compressor over backwards, and two, when I started it up I could hear air leaking out somewhere, after investigating I found a connection that had not been sealed with pipe thread tape. The connection was a little difficult to reach but I got it apart, taped and back together and no more leak. Overall it has been performing like I would expect and like I wanted.
