Good solid compressor
Very satisfied with this compressor. Bought it to replace a 30yr old compressor that finally gave up the ghost. It is a loud compressor but honestly can't say its any louder than any other oil free units I've used in the past. From completely empty, it takes 7 mins to fill up completely, which for a small compressor attached to a 33 gal tank is acceptable. It runs all my equipment for my woodworking shop from nailers to small sprayers satisfactorily. It also does a good job with the occasional air ratchet. I use the compressor on a daily basis and have not detected a leak yet., I left the tank filled but cut off during the entire weekend and had no pressure loss at all. The only item keeping me from giving this compressor a 5 star rating is the design of the drain valve on the bottom of the tank. It's very hard to get to and open regularly. I ended up raising the tank on a 4x4 open base to make the valve easier to access.

Craftsman Air Compressor from CHINA

I upgraded to this 33 gallon compressor.  My last Craftsman lasted 5 years.  This one lasted 8 months.  I replaced the Pressure Switch.  It ran fine for 1 week & then I could hear a loud noise.  The piston ring went bad & cylinder head o-ring looked flattened.  The 2 o-rings look like the cheapest material used.  Definitely sub standard.  They look to be worth about at most 2 dollars.  They cost 12 dollars!  Just for fun I looked at some ot the other replacement parts. Powet Cord $45!!!  Outrages!!!

Poor Drain Valve, Catch Up Time, Needs bigger compressor motor

Was hoping this would be enough to get me by until I could afford the large size i really wanted but have been dissappointed. Take long time to fill up. Yes this is oil less lubrication and is loud. Drain valve is a pain to get at and like many others have put the tank up on a stand. The drain valve area is in the most logical spot being the lowest point of the tank but even if the wheels and feet were large to hold the bottom of the tank higher off the ground would help out alot. Quality wise mid range had problems right away with it leaking and had a few gauges and valves replaced. No problems since.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Lots of pressure, poor reliability, noisy

I have had to replace the piston & ring set twice and the pressure switch once in the 3 years I've had mine. At about $220 for parts plus down time, I would recommend a cast iron oil-bath compressor, even at the loss of 115 V portability.

So far So good!!!!

I'm happy so far with my compressor!! I upgraded from a 15 gallon Craftsman compressor which i've had for 12 years and it's still going strong. After reading the reviews i purchased a 5 year extended warranty for short money. They should send out this review after six months of ownership not six days. That way they will really get true feedback on the performance of their products. I've always had good luck with the Craftsmans name and look forward to doing bussiness with their products for years to come!!!

I would recommend this product to a friend.

hard worker

Well great price on sale, but if you think this is going to run an impact wrench your wrong.Don't get me wrong it does run the gun but will not crack rusted bolts. You need a two stage compressor for that. For the every once and a wile worker part time in my drive way mechanic works great.

Poor to No Craftsman Support

The motor winding just shorted out on my 30 gallon model.  When I went to order a new motor or motor/pump assymbaly I find that Sears Craftsman no longer supports my model.  So for those considering this item I would recommend that you go with a conventional air compressor.

Overall
compressor review

I was surprised with the horsepower size of the motor. They are lower horsepower than older models. This compressor replaces one that was almost 20 years old and parts were obsolete. Two things I don't like about this is one, the tank sits so low to the floor that in order to open the pitcock you have to tip the whole compressor over backwards, and two, when I started it up I could hear air leaking out somewhere, after investigating I found a connection that had not been sealed with pipe thread tape. The connection was a little difficult to reach but I got it apart, taped and back together and no more leak. Overall it has been performing like I would expect and like I wanted.

I would recommend this product to a friend.
