It's IMPOSSIBLE to assemble with the parts supplied. The quick connect clips required a nut & bolt to secure them. The ones supplied were a 1/4"-20 course nut and a M7-1.0 bolt (metric). The metric bolt & standard nut obviously would not go together. Additionally, the quick clips were only partially pre-drilled, and only at the back end of the clip. So not only did I have to determine if the clips were drilled standard or metric,, so I'd know if I was replacing the nut or the bolt supplied, I had to manually pre-drill each clip (38 per unit) so the bolt would so through. Took 2 people to assemble, No ability to level during or after assembly.
I am sitting on the fence regarding this unit. The installation was terrible for me. The hardware left a lot to be desired. I had multiple defective quick links, screws, and nuts. I ended up at the hardware store for misc. hardware to assemble it. The sheet metal is very flimsy and a few of my pieces were warped out of the box, making it a struggle to keep holes lined up while attaching things. I think it would be a great idea to make the shelves reinforced in places. The instructions left a little bit to be desired in quality as well. Once assembled, it works great. It was just a pointlessly frustrating chore to put together by myself. I think another set of hands would have made a world of difference.

I was a bit hesitant to purchas at first but once it was put together it worked great. Instructions are difficult to follow and the hardware didn't fit as planned with attaching the nut to the bolts for the shelves. It helps to have help but can be put together by one person in a few hours.
I bought this to compliment my other shelving cabinets that Sears offers. Like the other reviews I agree that it is a nice unit IF you buy it on sale, otherwise I would have been sorely disappointed. It is time consuming to assemble, taking about 3X longer than the sturdier cabinets. The supplied nuts and bolts, in my opinion, are a joke, strip easily, and the threads don't mesh properly so you basically strip them during assembly. I called Sears and they sent me another hardware pack but had the same problem again. I ended up going to the local hardware store to get the proper bolts. This is the first time I was not happy with Craftsman quality so my advice is to buy it only if it is on sale, otherwise you will overpay!
Needlessly complicated and time consuming to assemble. The real problem is that there are no leveling feet like the cabinets have. So unless you have a perfectly level garage floor they just don't work well. Very frustrated, will be returning unassembled ones.
We actually bought this in red/black to match the red workbench. The shelving unit provides a lot of space to store tools. Right away we lined it with Contact-brand shelf liners to minimize any scratching on the shelf surface. It took about 90-120 minutes for one person to put together.
Bought 3 of these units plus the corner shelving unit. Took one whole day to put together the corner unit and almost another day to put together 2 of the 3 36" wide steel shelving units. Instructions are not very clear and assembly is a two person job. I am extremely handy but this was a frustrating effort. The short bolts if not aligned very careful are easily stripped and their are no extras. Aligning to get the bolts started takes too much time. I will say that once the shelving is put together they are a nice unit and the only reason I gave this 3 stars. Although I would recommend this to a friend it would be with some reservation and suggestions.
Overall the shevles are OK. I was a little disappointed as I had just finished assembling a Craftsman garage cabinet. The cabinet was better constructed and easier to assemble. The shelves did assemble per the instructions but there were a lot of screws and nuts. Given the cabinet the shelf assembly could have been easier. Squaring the shelves, especially aligning the top and bottom shelf sub-assemblies, took a bit of time. I'm picky and like to see "straight shelves." If you want to have shelves that are reasonably straight then you wouldn't need to spend the time that I did. Does the shelf meets its puprose in my garage, "yes," thus the 3-stars.
