CRAFTMAN IS STILL CREATING RELIABLE AND QUALITY PRODUCTS

Overall the shevles are OK. I was a little disappointed as I had just finished assembling a Craftsman garage cabinet. The cabinet was better constructed and easier to assemble. The shelves did assemble per the instructions but there were a lot of screws and nuts. Given the cabinet the shelf assembly could have been easier. Squaring the shelves, especially aligning the top and bottom shelf sub-assemblies, took a bit of time. I'm picky and like to see "straight shelves." If you want to have shelves that are reasonably straight then you wouldn't need to spend the time that I did. Does the shelf meets its puprose in my garage, "yes," thus the 3-stars.

Very nice product and a good value if you buy it on sale. Assembly instruction were not very good, seems like they were out of order and written by a eight grader somehwere in China and then translated over to english. Wish it came with a few extra pieces of the assembly hardware as the bolts strip easily

terrible assembly instructions, you are lucky if you do not receive a damaged item. It is the second time I buy Craftsman and it is the second time it arrives damaged. It is a nightmare to return it.

The instructions are not clear due to the options available in assy. of the shelves. Assembly is awkward. Shelves are sturdy when put together and look good.

This shelf was delivered with excellent packing and completely intact. The instructions were a little confusing at first until we mastered the use of the quick-connect tabs, which are then held in place with heavy screws. Once we figured out the first one, the rest was simple. The shelves can be configured with the sides up (closed) or down (open), though I assembled the sides down so they would line up with an adjacent unit. End result was extremely solid, and all panels lined up well. I would recommend this product.

I got this to compliment the corner shelves, since I wanted the perfect garage. I also bought other popular brands from ***** for my basement and to store wood in my garage (96" wide). By comparison, the other shelves went together in about 20% of the time of the Craftsman and didn't require any tools. The other brands could support an elephant, yet the Craftsman feels like flimsy 12 gauge sheet metal. Being excited about the metal from a stain perspective, I thought it was better than the MDF on the other brands, but unfortunately, they scratch very easily. I put a plastic tool case on and it put some good scratches in. For the amount of time it took to put together, it does not feel robust either, slightly wobbly.

I just expanded my shop and needed more storage, after reading the reviews of ***** and ********** customers I decided to look for something different. The time to assemble the sears product is quite a bit longer than the snap together big box store products, but being all steel and super strong more than offsets the assembly time. I found the all steel unit to be extremely strong no sagging and yet light wait when I want to move it around.
