Product Description
Laser-etched size marking makes it easy to locate the right socket for the job. Great for working in low-lit or greasy environments. Permanent marking resists chipping, fading and corroding. 12 point configuration allows you to work in cramped areas where turning capacity is limited.

I have abused this socket for 25 years and I can't break it.

Needing a 36mm socket to take the rear tire off my motorcycle, I have been shopping around for them. Many auto parts stores that had them wanted $20 or more for that socket. When I found it at Sears for under $9, I immediately bought it. It works great.

Big sockets are the kind of item you think you will never need. But then you find yourself working on a project you never expected to tackle and there are the large fasteners. Man, I should have bought the larger sockets when I had the chance. Fortunately, Craftsman sockets are inexpensive enough that you do not mind keeping them on hand. In addition, Craftsman sockets have been AS954 compliant for several years. This aerospace specification accounts for the radiused area at each "point" on the socket. Better contact with the fastener, no more rounded fasteners. One famous tool company had this patent tied up for years but the process is now available to all manufacturers and we see it applied to Craftsman sockets. Better deal than ever. Since I now have to wear glasses it's nice that Craftsman has labeled these with easy to read sizes and still guaranteed for life.

It is a great price for a large sized socket compared to other brands, although they do not have a six-point and those are very hard to find. My issue is the 36mm O.D. on my Yamaha does measure 36mm, while the socket I.D. is actually 37mm, which I measured after I noticed how loose it fit on the nut.

This 36mm socket can be used for tightening/loosening the rear axle nut on Suzuki Bandits, and probably other bikes as well. Far superior to the wrench supplied with the bike as it allows for proper torque to be applied. Most ourstanding of all is the price. Other sockets this size are $30-40 !
