Awesome set of pliers but what is more important is the Craftsman promise. Last summer my son broke one of the jaws off with a sharp smack with a hammer. When I took it to Sears, I tried to explain what had happened but the clerk said it was unimportant, it’s a Craftsman just go get you another one off the shelf. Talk about standing behind a product, this is unbeatable!
These are very poorly made cutters. These are flush cut diagonals for use on things like printed circuit boards to cut component leads. The cutting surfaces in the jaws to not make contact with each other until half way back. This makes them worthless. If you hold the jaws up to a light you can clearly see how the cutting surfaces do not tough completely.
As a dedicated Craftsman tool buyer I am extremely disappointed with this product. The 3 piece set of this series of tools also has the same problem. I would highly suggest you stay away form this tool series and don't waste your money.

It's a Craftsman..... That says it all. GREAT tool.

I make handmade jewelry and needed a tool to cut beading wire very close to the gemstones. This tool is narrow at the tip and allows cutting flush against the stones. I find that other tools don't cut well at the tip but this one works great, plus it was a lot less expensive then some other brands.

I purchased the 5 piece Craftman set to work on my jewelry projects. Four of the pieces have held up to continuous use for quite some time. The cutting plier is wonderful - it is my most-used tool; one of the best featues is that when they lose their cutting edge, I can take them back to Sears and have them replaced for no charge! The price is great - particularly compared to similar items sold at jewelry supply stores or other jewelry specialty stores - and they work better! I completely encourage anyone to consider purchasing Craftsman products for projects other than "garage-based!" They aren't made just for guys! :-)

I'm a little like Tim 'The Toolman' Taylor. I think it is a good idea to hook a Chevy 350 V8 to the household blender to get a little more power. Sometimes however, I've found that a little finess works better thanbrute force. This is especially true when working with delicate electronics, etc. That's where these little pliers come in. They have all the benefits and advantages of their bigger siblings, but are sized just right for intracate work. The cushioned handles are nice and I really love the spring loaded design of the jaws. Try a set out for yourself - you'll appreciate the fact that size doesn't matter.

The Craftsman 4 1/2" Diagonal Cutting Pliers, Wide Jaw are great for making jewelry. They are wonderful for cutting wire in hard to reach places. I also love the fact that they are guaranteed for life. Thank you for the quality workmanship put into Craftsman products.

I bought these primarily for use on electronic equipment. As I work as an engineer in the offshore industry, they are always in my pocket. They have cut things they were never meant to cut, have never chipped or gone blunt. The only thing that has gone wrong with them is that when I loaned them out once, the person who borrowed them left them covered in hydraulic oil which caused the grips to soften and come away from the handles. So, don't lend them out. The quality is outstanding for the price. Highly recommended.
