I got these clamps for use on some wooden oil rigs that I am trying to make my own design on and building in my shop. These clamps also work well holding some of my smaller box projects. I like the ease of ratcheting the clamps forward to tighten and hold your parts as well as ratcheting reverse to loosen of spread your work pieces. The cushioned pads have not marked any of my work as of yet. You can clamp up to 4 3/8" wide or spread out 4"-8". The clamps have easy one handed forward and reverse operation. The jaws can be reversed to change from clamping mode or to spreading mode. Overall, these are pretty good clamps and stay in place when applied and they are the perfect size for several of my wood projects. My only complaint on these clamps is that you must use a screw driver to change the jaws from clamping to spreading mode. The larger sizes of this type of clamp all have a spring loaded clip to pop off the jaws and swith them out. But other than that, I like the clamps...

This clamp is by far the best clamp I've used in this size. It's great for light duty, small jobs. I would definately buy more of these clamps.
