Pricey, but Worth It!
I just recently installed two of these in the garage, so I am not ready to rate reliability yet. I had installed two $20 specials from one of the big hardware stores and they were just lousy. They would flicker and one of them would not light one lamp at all. These are of very high quality (even if they are made in China), are easy to install and they fired right up when I turned them on. There is only one downside: I do not believe that they give the same light output as a regular fluorescent shop light. The T8 bulbs are only 32-34 watts, and are smaller in diameter than a standard 40 watt bulb.

Junk!!!
Over about a three year period, I've bought two of these lights. First one, the ballest burnt out in less than a year. Company that sells the ballest was out of them. After waiting several months, I decided to just buy another light. In less than a year, that ballest quit working also. I'm NOT buying another Craftsman...

Over Priced Made in China

Don't waste your time in buying this light.. Ordered the RED color, it came in and it was like a Pink/Purple color. Ok maybe a flaw returned, ordered another Red it came in and that too was like a Pink/Purple color. Made in China.. Way over Priced!!

This Craftsman bench light did not function well in cold weather

I bought three of these for my Colorado garage/workshop.   Given the high cost I presumed I was purchasing a quality product that would provide reliable light in that space.

After the second winter only one of the fixtures is fully operable, a second is half operable, the third is useless.

Bulb replacement is difficult when one tube is already installed due to the limited finger space!   My fingers are of average size or smaller.

Well Made, Good Looking, Efficient

I bought two of these several years ago and they have performed very well.  I used them to replace two of the cheaper lights with standard fluorescent T-12 bulbs in my garage.  Those old lights would flicker quite a bit, especially in cold weather and the ballast was not reliable.  They are more efficient (32W vs. 40W) and provide more light than standard T-12 fixtures.  The compact design provides a narrower beam, but moving them higher seems to help with that.   I have not experienced a bad ballast as described by a previous reviewer.  A couple of years ago one of the lights started to flicker and the bubs went dim.  It seemed to be a bad ballast, but replacing one of the bulbs fixed it immediately and there have been no problems since.  The ballast in these lights is electronic and is far more reliable than a magnetic ballast.  Planning to buy two more today.

Overall
your shop must have at least two

very very easy to hang and wire. no chains to hang by. these very strong black cables on each end willl allow you to adjust them to your preferred height. they turn on immediately when you hit the switch. no waiting around for these babies to come on. the sleakest looking shop light i've seen. i'm glad i ordered two of them. now i can see what i am doing in the shop. i will soon be buying another one to replace another old floppy flourescent that's about had it. believe me your shop will instantly improve the professional look........................

I would recommend this product to a friend.
