I purchased this to be my primary vacuum cleaner. Shop vacs are more powerful and versatile than the standard domestic tool. Delivery was surprisingly prompt. Assembly was accomplished without invoking incantations or chants. Dispensing the shortcomings, it could use a better floor tool. The tool caddy and wand attachments could be improved. The instruction manual advises of a static charge developing in the hose and wands. It suggests running a humidifier, not always a practical consideration. It is better to detach the hose from the vacuum. Then, detach the wand from the hose and the tool from the wand over a receptacle to catch any debris that may have collected at those points. These are minor points and would not deter me from buying the product again. As far as cleaning ability is concerned, the machine is awesome. Don't use it to clean a bird cage with the bird inside.

i bought this unit to replace one that was from sears 15 years ago and while the old one still works it is incredibly loud as the motor is going out. I am a small contractor and carry the unit in my truck . this unit was not as powerful ( although quieter) has no provision for blowing, the filter does a better job on dust but plugs quickly, and the hose is flimsy. overall a disapointment after the excellent service i had from my previous sears unit. it would probably be allright for light household use. i will add that i have a number of sears tools and am happy with them.
