This is a simple little clamp set but they don't clamp too well without a lot of flexing of the handles and jaws. They should be solid and clamp tightly but can't because of the amount of soft plastic in them. Too bad, I was hoping they would hold better for my smaller wood projects.

Although not designed for HD use, I find these ratcheting clamps quick and easy to set and release. They are nice designed light duty clamping, sort of like an extra holding hand. I turn to other clamp styles when my project needs strong compression. I've used 3 different sizes and found these well made and solid performers. On sale, these are a real bargain. If you need a light "adjustable" clamp squeeze with your projects, for what these are, they work just fine!

Recieved clamps as a birthday present. I found them to have a good design and opening capacity. Obviously, being plastic they are meant for light duty, and if treated properly work fine. The racheting is precise, yet the release mechanism does require you to squeese the clamp before the release will work, under certain loads. I do not recommend them for use on smooth surfaces as the clamps are plastic with no rubber for gripping.

I got a set of these for Christmas. The first month I used them I broke one squeezing it too hard. The design is good, a trigger to release the clamp is well placed, but the quality is dissapointing. They might be good for model builders but not woodworkers. Sears: please put the words "light-duty" or "model builder" on the outside so we know that squeezing too hard can break them.

I recieved this set for christmas I gave the small ones to my daughter and used the big ones twice before one of them broke. I would not buy this product.
