      Good fork for the money
I purchased this digging fork for light to medium duty work, primarily digging up potatoes from my home garden. The soil used for the potatoes is sandy so this fork works great for easy jobs like that. I've also used it for harder-earth digging and can tell that the plasic handle isn't able to handle clay-ridden and other tough soil - for that, either soaking the soil or using a fiberglass/wood handled fork would work better. This for is fairly inexpensive and great for light to medium work, which is what I purchased it for. The fork end itself is very well made and will definitely last well over time. Overall, I am happy with my purchase.

Not as good as it once was
I rate the digging fork a two star only because of the great Craftsman warranty. The fork itself is not great. I have two Craftsman digging forks - an older one made in the USA and a more recent one that was made in China. The fiberglass handle of the newer one cracked. The tines on the older fork are at a 90 degree angle to the D handle which gives them much more strength. The US made fork is a much better design and implementation. The new replacement fork is assembled in the US. The tines are made in Austria. The quality appears to be even lower than the one which broke. The grip on the D handle is smooth rather than grooved making it more difficult to grip securely. The connection between the handle and the tines also does not have the ring covering the connection. It would look better with that covering and possibly be stronger. Of the five forks in stock, three already had their labels (with the UPC and other information) missing or barely attached to to the handle.

Very poor quality, replacing my 5th one now

My digging fork by craftsman from the 90s had its fiberglass handle break and so I have replaced it with the new Made in China version. Extremely poor quality, the tines bend when digging in clay soil. I have replaced 4 of these now the last one I replaced had all 4 tines break off of the shaft. They are NOT steel but some kind of cheap pot metal. About to replace my 5th craftsman digging fork now, this has been a source of much frustration and time wasted. Unfortunately craftsman doesnt make any other model and so I am stuck with this faulty one.

Craftsmen Pitch Fork - digging fork

The 4-tine digging fork is very sturdy. Handle fits well in the hand and it made of quality steel. It should hold up well to being used for many seasons.

      The best

Used it to pick up branches when pruning roses or bushes. Works great to puck up branches from floor quickly.

ok, but bends in hard soil

this fork is bigger and taller than the one I got from the hardware store. It seems well-made but the forks bent when I tried to break up hard soil where the smaller one didn't. If you don't have hard soil (clay, etc) then this fork might be fine.

      Love this Fork

I've been pricing this item for around a year and finally broke down and ordered this one. It is heavy duty and will be perfect come potato harvest time.

      Good fork

Used this same Craftsman digging fork for years at the ranch; it busted on a root, and so took it back to SEARS for replacement - No hassle with help from a delightful clerk (that should be a manager!). New one works even better I think :)

I would recommend this product to a friend.

      Excellent Fork

I have two of these and use them heavily in my large garden and in landscaping. They are excellent high quality tools. Very strong. Years ago, I left one of these outside in the sunshine for a couple weeks ? big mistake. The key to these Craftsman tools ? or any tools with fiberglass handles ? is to store them in a shed or a garage. Sunlight devastates the resins in the fiberglass. I have many Sears hand tools ? I will not buy any other brand. These tools are the best. Most Craftsman hand tools are made in the USA and have a lifetime warranty: this is why I support Sears over the "big box" depot type stores. Thanks for the great tools Sears.
