Very near perfect, but the best I've used
Besides using this for around-the-house duties, I'm an audio engineer who needs to de-rack and re-rack gear on a regular basis. Doing this with a manual screwdriver gets ridiculous pretty quickly, especially when you're working alone and trying to support the weight of something heavy while securing it to rack rails. A lot of cordless screwdrivers weigh so much your arm starts to hurt after working for a while. This little guy came to my rescue. It's lightweight and powerful. I almost always use it on low speed which is fast enough for most applications. The adjustable chuck is great and saves me from stripping screws. The quick release is the best I've ever used. I never used to believe in keyless chucks but now I find myself missing the quick release when I'm using my corded drill for heavy duty jobs. Being able to reverse quickly is also nice. Another reviewer listed that as a con but I've never hit the reverse unintentionally. Speaking of cons, people mention the LED doesn't illuminate until the screwdriver is working. How hard is it to back away from the screw an inch to use it as a flashlight? I do this and it works fine! I read all of the reviews I could before buying. Yes I'm a little OCD but I like to buy the right tool once and never think about it again. Here's one feature I didn't see before buying: When you've gotten the screw in reasonably tight but want to make sure it's really in there, you can twist the whole screwdriver using the torque of the handle, the chuck locks up, and you've gotten it as tight as it can be. I have yet to find another cordless screwdriver that does this and it's a huge advantage even over conventional screwdrivers. The item description mentions this as a way to keep working in case the battery dies but I use it regularly when the battery is fine. Having the different bits and the case is fantastic. I've had it for maybe a year and a half and haven't lost a piece. Oh and the battery life is terrific as other reviewers have pointed out. I think I've charged it maybe 6 times since new. It's pretty great and has become one of my favorite, most-often-used tools.

Little Power, Almost Zero Battery Life

The summary says it all.  The battery runs down in no time and is completely shot after a year.  Because you can't replace the battery, you have to throw away the entire tool when the battery goes.

I read a story that took place in Cuba.  The record there for refilling a disposable lighter is something like 120 times.  120 times!  We just throw them away.

This power tool is designed to be thrown away after a year.  That means throwing $40 in the trash.  Of course the folks in China took a percentage of that and they expect another $40 investment again when the battery dies.

Nice Screwdriver -- but it's a throw-away

I purchased this because of the features and overall design. Intended use was light work around the house. I have other tools for heavier usage. Liked this because of the Li-ion battery and their excellent shelf-life / recharge characteristics. Wrong. Battery life is about 1 year. Not replaceable. Tried Sears parts direct, tried the store. There are NO replacement parts. This is a major disappointment. Renders the screwdriver obsolete after 1 year of service!!! Didn't think Sears would offer such a poor quality part..ever! Now I will triy finding a suitable Li-ion battery or look for a better, non-Sears replacement. Aaaargh!

Junk

This starts out as an excellent electric screwdriver for most household jobs. Then it degenerates into a useless piece of junk because the lithium battery will last about 1 year and then is useless and will not hold a charge. It is not replaceable, thus rendering a nice tool into a piece of junk to be discarded.

Great for small jobs.

This tool is light and easy to use. It works exactly as one would hope. It does not seem to be meant to be used for heavy duty or all day commercial use. I've only used it a few times so far so I can't rate it's reliability.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Perfect size!

Purchased this to replace another brands 4 volt Li-On cordless screwdriver and this one is much better. It has a better feel and a little better power for drywall screws and its a Craftsman. One slight drawback is battery is not easily accessible as it is built into the handle.I would buy this product again absolutely.

Wonderful little helper

Lightweight, yet powerful. It is the perfect little tool for household jobs. It is compact and has adjustable torque.....which is very cool. It has a trigger power switch: one way tightens and the other way loosens. Glad I bought it!

I would recommend this product to a friend.
