this toolbox is head and shoulders above the other boxes at this price point. the drawers move smoothly even at full capacity, and the griplatch system is the best drawer closure style that I've ever used

When I took this out of the box the key would not unlock the drawers. The lock mechanism had come apart inside. I figured out if you turn the box upside down it will unlock the drawers. Once the top drawer is open I could get to the back of the lock and the rod to re assemble it. Now it works great. I hope it does not come apart once it is full of tools.

I first purchased the stainless version and there was a problem with the drawers not lining up. No replacement units were available so I bought the black version and got a GREAT deal on it. The space this provides is perfect with my needs and assembly was easy. I was a little disappointed that Sears didn't include drawer liners. Such a small expense to Sears that adds so much value. Oh well. I deducted 2 stars because I'm still left with a product that isn't fully functional since 2 of the top drawers on this unit are misaligned and don't close properly. This causes the locking mechanism to have to be jimmied a little to actually lock. Sadly I'm going to have to return this one also and look elsewhere to buy.
I had been after the stainless steel version then I came across this one. Caught it on sale got it for an unbelievable price. The title of the box says it all it's a premium tool cart. The grip latch drawers are where it's at.
I purchased this box along with with the top chest(which i haven't used as of yet) for work as i was outgrowing the smaller chest i had. I looked long and hard at several boxes from different manufacturers trying to make an informed decision as i hope this will be the last box I ever buy. I love the set up of the drawers. Having different sizes is great to accommodate large tools or to keep sets in their cases and the deep right hand drawer is great as you can stand up spray bottles of cleaner, solvents, lubricants, etc. and don't have to worry about them leaking out in your box or on to anything else in the drawer with them. The GRIP-LATCH system is an awesome feature especially for me as i have to move locations a few times a day across bumpy and uneven concrete floors. The drawers stay shut till you want them open. i worried a little about them at first but the pulling motion to open the drawers is very natural. The box itself is very well built. From what i can tell it is just as good if not better than anything else i got a chance to look at in the stores during my shopping. I had several co workers try to sway me away from a Craftsman box as they feel they "aren't what they were back in the day." Most of them have taken the inexpensive way out and have paid for it in their own way having to rebuild their boxes when a drawer wears out or rig up a lock when the one built in breaks. Nothing against what they have but i like the fact that i can purchase parts to replace anything in these and they are backed by a lifetime guarantee. Assembly was a breeze taking a little over an hour including unloading off my truck at the plant, finding the tools i needed, and unboxing the chest. sliding the bottom two drawers out was a snap thanks to the slide release levers being very convenient. I've seen a few with me included break the stops off putting theirs together having lower quality and more complicated slides on them. All that needs assembly is putting on the wheels and the push handle. My only complaint about the box as a whole is the pushing handle. Anyone above average size is probably going to find it a little awkward and uncomfortable to push it a long distance since the handle is a little narrow. i find myself pushing against the side of the box more than the handle some times so my hands aren so cramped together. You have barely enough space to put both hands on it to push. All in all it is a great box that i got for an even better price that i look forward to many years of service from and will be stocking it with many more Craftsman tools in the years to come.
I needed a box that would take more weight per draw. I did the research and this box is the same quality as the Edge series for half the price. It is even a better deal when you search different Sears ads by and getting thee best sale price. I got his box cheaper than the advertised sale price. Great box for the money.
I was pleasantly surprised when I unboxed this box. I did have to put on the casters, but a 7/16 socket and wrench made quick work of it after pulling out the 2 bottom drawers, which was actualy very easy. The drawers slide very smoothly even when fully loaded. The box rolls across the shop floor very well and with no hang ups. I can think of only 1 problem with this box: I wish the handle was held on with something other than #3 phillips head screws. Instead they should use some kind of security screw or bolt it on so that it can't be taken by anybody with a screwdriver.
