Definitely worth the extra money to get the stainless steel. Excellent finish and great addition to any garage. Anyone can feel the durability of the product at first sight and use. I love it!

I bought this cart right after buying the "old" model of the matching top tool box, which was on clearance. I can't believe the differences in the old model quality and this "new" model, even though the price went up. First, the grip latches were redesigned and made smaller (and cheaper). Most of the drawers in my cart would not even catch, right out of the box. The drawers would literally fly open on their own if you rotated it. I was tempted to return for this reason alone, but after looking closer at it, I was able to "adjust" (i.e., bend) the latches enough so they would catch. My biggest disappointment, however, was that the inner drawers are not painted like the old models are. They are simply just unfinished galvanized steel, which looks really cheap. Plus, one of the machined edges on the top drawer was still sharp as a razor, causing me to slice open my finger when I was installing liners that they don't provide. Think of a paper cut x10. I checked the floor model in the store the other day, and it was the same way, so beware if you own this product. By the way, they do provide one piece of lining, but it is sized to fit the top - not for the drawers as one other person posted, although it would be easy to think that. On top of everything else, the cart is about half an inch smaller in width than the old model (another corner cut to save a buck), which means my brand new "old model" top box overhangs this cart a quarter inch on each side. This prevents you from being able to connect them together with the small metal braces they provide. If I could find even a used version of the older model, I would return this in a heartbeat. Believe it or not, I am a loyal Sears customer and I have built my tool collection around the Craftsman name. Sadly, however, I am extremely disappointed in this product and the direction that Sears has unfortunately begun to take in terms of quality. The two stars are really for the outer look of the cart, which is great, until you start looking closer.
Growing up in a family that has always used Craftsman tools, I'm finally happy to own my own personal tool chest. I have the same model as my dad's, however his is 30 years older. I'm impressed with the manufacturing, the look and the storage capacity. Although it would have been nice not to have to purchase the padding, it turns out that I received nearly $30 in rewards points which made up for the cost of the padding. So it was a win-win for me. The deal was great on it as I waited until this unit when on sale and saved nearly $350. Although it's not made in the U.S.A., which is disappointing, it does appear to be a dependable tool chest that will hopefully last a lifetime. And it's a fraction of the cost of a Snap-on or Matco chest. I'm not a really skilled mechanic who needed to spend thousands and thousands of dollars on MADE IN USA tool chests. It will be perfect for what I need and I'm happy I made this purchase.
I just received this for Christmas so I don't have much feedback.... I will say for as expansive as it was (good ole Sears cutting corners whenever and however they can) there is no padding in the drawers, which less expensive models come with, oh but they do give you that cheap cut your own piece padding, but only enough for two drawers. Sears is horrible and it's only because they carry certain big name products that they are still in business.
