      Good to Begin With
Purchased product at local Sears three days ago - very light; very quiet; like that the handle folds down easily for storage; easy to maneuver; very good cut on fine lawn in front yard and tough lawn in back yard; good safety feature...can't start unless you hold start button and pull back lever; batteries charged in less than two hours...may have had some charge from manufacturer. I cut about 1700 square feet of lawn and looks like i have enough charge to cut this much lawn three times before needing to recharge batteries. I've only used it once so I may have to append this review later. The one bad thing so far is that one battery is a 40 volt 4 amp and the second batter is a smaller 40 volt 2 amp. Not sure why both are not 4 amps.

Stay away. Decent mower but cannot get replacement batteries
Mower itself is fine, but the batteries are not available. I spoke to online support, Sears parts direct, online ordering (a couple of hours wasted)... Nobody can get 4Ah batteries shipped to me. The strange thing is that the batteries are actually available in some parts of the country, but not the others. Sears refuses to ship them from the stores that have them in stock. Strange but true... Anyway, the mower is going back to the store along with the trimmer and the blower.

      Met My Expectations

My favorite feature of course is the push button start and the fact that it runs on batteries. We have only used it once so far, but it did a great job on our yard and is so much quieter (and less smelly) than a gas mower. I am hoping to get many years of good service out of this machine. Thank you for selling quality products, Sears!

      Quiet Mower

I haven't had a chance to test this on full length summer grass yet but it seems to do its job quite well and its super quiet compared to gas mowers, just a whirring sound. Also the charge holds up easily to mow my 1/8 acre lot twice.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

      Best Lawn Mower Ever-- Except......

I am 74 years old and am unable to grab those batteries and lift them out to get them recharged. Consequently I always need another pair of hands to get the batteries to the re-charger.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

      Great Electric Mower

Great buy. My wife and I had some reservations about buying an electric mower, but they have been put to rest. This machine is easy to start, lightweight, quiet, and exhaust free. And it does a fine job of mowing the yard.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Good mower but not for mulching

Overall the mower does a good job if bagging, and the batteries last long enough for me. But it is noisier than expected (although not as noisy as a gas mower) and is terrible at mulching - leaves huge clumps all over the lawn. Also it is very ugly looking, with too many straight and jagged edges. The dual blades are a disappointment - there are two 10" blades with a slight gap in between. This means a single blade of grass will often be left standing in the middle of the path.

      Good Battery Powered Mower.

I have found this mower to work well. I got it mainly for mowing areas where my rider is not practical. It cuts/mulches grass and weeds with no problems and will run for about an hour and a half, on the two batteries it came with. Also, using it saves gas and money as I can charge the batteries via solar. I got it on sale and with point rewards so it was well worth the price I paid.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

      craftsmen 40 volt cordless mower

this machine beat the grass down and did not cut through evenly leaving high and low spots. The beat down grass laid on top of the grass next to it causing it to make dead spots. Also the two blades moving in opposite directions caused swirls in the yard because the beat down grass went in two direction. My yard is small and simple and well maintained with all grass and no weeds or other foreign things in it. I wanted to switch to a cordless mower but this one did not do the job. I bought another make and it is doing the job and now my lawn is getting back to looking good again

      Pros and Cons

Cons: The blades are small (2-10inch, not 2-20inch like normal mowers). Therefore the front of the mower has about 6 inches of dead space before grass start to cut. Battery is not last as long as advertised. I have less than 1/2 acre and I barely finish. Sometimes I don't, but I have the weed eater so I have a third battery. Advertised is most likely 2 larger batteries (you get 1 small and 1 large when purchasing). Don't let the grass grow more than about 5-6 inches or it will die out a lot. The batteries will not charge hot, so you have to let them cool before it will charge. Having extra batteries from other devices will help in this area. Pros: Battery powered, so it will pay for itself in about 2-3 years and it comes with a 5yr warranty. It is whisper quiet; you can mow at 9pm and not effect anyone. As long as you keep up with your grass it is a great investment. Batteries are easy and quick to charge (though the bigger one is slightly harder to remove from lawn mover). Batteries can be used by any equipment in the 40v line. I know I have a lot of cons, but overall I think the pros out way the cons. A few adjustments to the way you mow, but good for the environment.

I would recommend this product to a friend.
