I needed a box that would fit my cam bearing tool and my pry bars. This was the fit.

I purchased the matching chest first since its, 40? wide, I couldn?t find other middle chests but this one. The chest looking great and open and closes great. Shortly after, I purchased another one. I love them but they are very expensive .

The lock is terrible, and mine was poorly packaged. One of the drawer slides was not attached to the inside of the box, and the griplatch was bent and generally mutilated and didn't work, I had to fix both of these issues before I could use the box. The top edges of the drawer are simply cut off at the top and not rolled, so the top edges of the drawer are quite sharp. It is made from sheet-metal that is too thin, and so it's a bit flimsy. I expected a lot more for my money, especially since it carries the Craftsman name.

Works great, especially love the wood top. I use it with the craftsman Socket tree and it is easy to see and keeps all my sockets in place and ready for quick use

Item was ordered on line and picked up at local store location in good condition. Drawer guides are smooth and grip latches operate as advertised.

This product is real nice and was necessary to put my torque wrenches in. I love the 40inch length ,how it's smooth drawers glide open and love the griplatch! The comments on the wood top is true, it's particle board however with a 14 drawer rollaway chest, there's no way you can work on the top. ...it's way too high.I bought this item paying full price and through price protection it dropped $40. love it

At 38W x 16D x 3 1/2H", this is a great drawer for longer tools. I really like the ball bearing glides with the Griplatch activation and the locking feature. If you're purchasing all three stackable sections to this set and your shorter than about 5' 8", you won't be able to see the tools in the top chest's hinged top (the 14 drawer base and 8 drawer chest are sold separately) without a step stool. Also, if you buy all three sections, be aware that with the hinged top, you will need 80.5" clearance to open the hinged top...so keep that in mind if you have garage cabinets or other overhead obstructions above where you want to place your toolbox.

I bought this to organize the tools and gear in the back of my WK. The key to this storage compartment, was the fact that its lockable and a droor slides out with ease. The compartment allows for customization to and for its surronding. Its provided a hard surface area to work on. Its a bit high dollar, but nothing else provided all that this one has to offer. Hope this helps in anyones decion making. Van

For the past 4 years, I've owned the ball-bearing grip-latch 40" 14-drawer roller cart and the 40" 8-drawer top chest...Love Them! With my 35 years of tool investments (mostly Craftsman), I've filled the 25,000+ cubic inch storage capacity of this wonderful 2-piece combo and have been looking at the matching "intermediate" chest for additional "long tool" storage space! Finally, a good sale price got my attention...I've not been disappointed! The unit fits perfectly between the 40" cart and chest and provides over 36" of storage width. Loaded down (70lb rating), the drawer functions very smooth and latches solidly. It does raise the top chest higher, but I'm 70" tall and can still easily view the top drawer tools. I find the overall fit & finish perfectly matches the total combo and really looks and functions well as an integrated tool storage system. Other than a weak drawer lock mechanism (don't use, but would be easy to fix), I can't find fault with the 59604 intermediate storage unit. This Premium Ball Bearing-Grip Latch Triple Combo has now completed my "Toolmans's Storage Dream"!!!

Although I purchased this with the 40 inch quite glide bottom and top tool box, this middle chest is an excellent fit, the drawers come out smooth. The locking handle is very subtle when opening. Taking off the drawer is a snap, small levers one on each side, you press up on one and down on the other and the drawer comes right on out. One large single drawer is perfect for large amounts of tools of one kind, such as ratchets and sockets of the same size or wrenches. The packaging was fine, with no damage to the tool box and enough packing inside to protect it. Overall I rate this a 4 star and would recommend this to friends and family.
