Great Box for the money
First things first.... If you can't figure out how to install the casters, you shouldn't be buying a tool box this big. It took about 15 minutes to get everything unpacked and casters installed. I have been wanting one of these for awhile, so I finally bought one when it was on sale. I wish it came with some drawer liners, but hey.... no big deal!! Nice box, great price, don't let the negative reviews scare you away....

Think twice before purchasing this
Shame on us for not reading the reviews on this tool cart before buying it. My husband & I learned the hard way how difficult it was to remove the bottom 2 drawers in order to attach the casters. Their web site stated it comes fully assembled, but a discrepancy on the web page also says some assembly required, which is more like it. It took us two days to successfully accomplish this task. For anyone else looking into buying this, be advised the Operator's Manual is most helpful for the Ball Bearing series of this tool cart. The specific instructions for the drawer removal for the Quiet Glide series can be found in this manual under the Operation section & is entitled as "FRICTION". As my husband & I found out the key to getting these drawers out is to do as it states by taking a screwdriver, but really, really pushing down hard on what they describe as a "stop" (which is just a small protrusion molded into the drawer underneath the slides) & my husband says you can feel it bend when done correctly. Once it finally gets pushed down, you can move the slides back and remove the drawer. The best way for us to do this was to tip this cart on it's side so as to be able to apply sufficient amount of force. But tou shouldn't have to move a 243 lb. tool cart in this way just to get this done. - - We tried to get help in so many ways from Sears, including calling at least four phone numbers referred to us and personally returning to Sears (Hicksville, Long Island) to have a Sales Associate demonstrate the proper way to us and NO ONE returned any of our calls and the S.A. HAD NO IDEA how to remove these drawers. I then went online and actually found a discussion board (community.craftsman.com) which revealed a question from a distraught person entitled "Help! Drawer removal for mobile tool cart" which was dated September 2010. If this problem can be documented as far back as that, I wonder if Sears is even reading these reviews. I think not. It's a disgrace the way we were bucked around on the phone and it's an even bigger disgrace the way Sears, in general, is being run. Someone should produce a show on TV called "Sears Impossible" and have somebody instruct them how to properly run a business and provide satisfactory customer service.

Decent Product, but problems

I got this box on clearance for a good price. I have not had a chance to use it yet, but other craftsman products have been good in the past (My old tool box for one). The first issue I had is the box I picked up was hit with a forklift, and had a small gash in it. I did not see it till I got it to my place of work. I took it back, and had to wait 2 weeks for a new one. When I went to put the casters on the bottom, I had a lot of problems getting the bottom drawers out. The instructions say push the metal tabs in with a screwdriver, but I could not push them in, and had to hit the end of the screwdriver with a hammer quite a few times to get them in. The worst part is that when I went to load the box in my SUV, I cut myself (bad) on part of the sheet metal on the bottom of the box. I?m a machinist by trade so I get cut now and then, but also know the importance of de-burring my parts.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Botom drawer removal painful

I picked up this item after finishing the required courses for Harley Davidson at MMI. I'd read some of the reviews on how much fun removing the bottom two drawers could be. They were on the money. The whole idea to remove a tab that wiggles, while holding another moving part and pushing it back was a bad one. Once off the wheels were a breeze to install with a Craftsman ratcheting wrench. It worked even in the tight spaces on the bottom. Good construction heavy cabinet that had space left over once I put all of my tools in it including the drill and heat gun. time to go get some mroe tools. The Craftsman pinup girls I picked up on **** don't look too shabby on it either.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

40" W 14 drw tool chest base cabinet

Tool chest is awesome, and a great size. Casters were easy to put on once the drawers were removed, which was not easy.

Craftsman quality, but cheap slids

I really like this unit with the exception of the cheap friction slides used on this model. to put on the wheels you have to stick a screw driver in a slot on the slides to push a detent to remove the drawers. first of all the screw driver scratches the paint exposing bare metal that will allow rust. second it will take two people to do this operation to now damage the other slides when putting enough force to allow for the slide to be pushed back after pushing the detent. i would rather spend $20 more for a better design.
