All comments on the removal of the drawers are valid, it is not that easy. Nevertheless, if you bought that product it should not be the first time you face a challenging DIY situation. It all depends on how much money you spent on the tool chest. I bought mine during the 2012 black Friday and I have to say that the 30min it costs me to install the wheels did not bother me. The product does very well its job.
Only complaint is that there are ******* cheap locktabs holding the drawers on the glide rails. Seems like a few bucks could be spent to spot weld nuts on the inside of the two lower drawers and small machine screw sent through to do the locking feature. The paint on the locktabs has been removed trying to release them, and I am concerned that I bent one of the four rails the drawer moves on, as that drawer does not slide as nicely as the rest.

I got this box on clearance for a good price. I have not had a chance to use it yet, but other craftsman products have been good in the past (My old tool box for one). The first issue I had is the box I picked up was hit with a forklift, and had a small gash in it. I did not see it till I got it to my place of work. I took it back, and had to wait 2 weeks for a new one. When I went to put the casters on the bottom, I had a lot of problems getting the bottom drawers out. The instructions say push the metal tabs in with a screwdriver, but I could not push them in, and had to hit the end of the screwdriver with a hammer quite a few times to get them in. The worst part is that when I went to load the box in my SUV, I cut myself (bad) on part of the sheet metal on the bottom of the box. I?m a machinist by trade so I get cut now and then, but also know the importance of de-burring my parts.
has great holding power the drawers are very strong, easy to use open nice hold a lot of my tools have to have 6 of these to hold all my tools but they are great and when on sale I'll buy more..
I picked up this item after finishing the required courses for Harley Davidson at MMI. I'd read some of the reviews on how much fun removing the bottom two drawers could be. They were on the money. The whole idea to remove a tab that wiggles, while holding another moving part and pushing it back was a bad one. Once off the wheels were a breeze to install with a Craftsman ratcheting wrench. It worked even in the tight spaces on the bottom. Good construction heavy cabinet that had space left over once I put all of my tools in it including the drill and heat gun. time to go get some mroe tools. The Craftsman pinup girls I picked up on **** don't look too shabby on it either.
Boy....What can I say.....Craftsman has come a long way.....Yes, some of their tool storage items are cheaply made but not this one.........Its all in what you can afford...... I use it everyday and I have no complaints
