Powerful, long lasting, great product.
I live on acreage so I'm not just using this to trim my postage stamp lot. Finally, the cordless industry has caught up to battery and motor technology. This bad boy has the power of a decent gas powered trimmer and the battery life is excellent. I purchased a spare battery just in case but really didn't need it to service an acre sized lawn and various other overgrowth on property. No complaints. Of course if you go full ape and keep the trigger planted all the time it will go through the battery quicker, but use some restraint and only goose it when you need too and you'll get plenty of life out of it.

Dissapointing
I was excited about the power and finally more use time but when I got it and put the battery in for about a minute or two the the motor burned out right away and smelled up the whole house with a very bad burned smell. I could not even try it out on the grass. I think either one of two things happened. The electric motor was bad or it is just to much voltage for it. I was very dissapointed in the product. I went to the store to replace to give them the benefit of the doubt but they did not sell only online. Bummer.

Overall
Trimmer did not work very well.

The trimmer line had to be manually fed. Eventually, it would not feed at all. Took it back to the store and exchanged it for a new one. It too had to be manually fed. Eventually, it would not start at all. Took this one back and got a refund. When it was working it did trim well, but the manual feed and other issues were just to much to put up with!

Very tall; automatic feed did not work

This trimmer is definitely for a tall person. It stands almost five feet and does not have an adjustable handle. The automatic feed of the string never worked; I continually was pulling the string out myself to advance it.

Good product

Pros- Cordless, and dont have to use gas. So its easy. I am trying to use it, still learning its full function. Con- Having trouble assembling it, also issues with trimmer line, with the line getting sucked in again and again.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Great Buy...Very impressive.

This edger does a great job. I wish I had purchased this item last spring. It makes everything easy. I especially enjoy the battery power. I don't have to work around a long electrical cord and that makes it good for me. Just try it once and you'll be ready to buy one

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Didn't work well

I had to manually advance the string every minute or so. "Auto-feed" is NOT.

Overall
Poorly designed

Of all of the Craftsman products I have owned this one is the most poorly designed. The handle, trigger and safety switch could not have been placed in a more awkward position causing abnormal stress on the operator. The engineers who design these products should be required to use them. You should not be more tired from holding the trimmer than from actually using it. Otherwise the power and function was what I expected.

Very Dependable

Didn't want a gas or corded trimmer -- so I went with this 40 volt battery trimmer. Not sorry at all. Live on a lake and the weeds were high and dense by the water. This trimmer took care of them. Was able to do all around the house, flower beds and 3/4's by the lake. The battery lasted long since I did have a great deal of unwanted growth by the water. Charged it up (which is extremely quick) and finished the last 1/4 of the growth by the water. Very easy to assemble, light weight and easy to operate. Most of all - it does a very good job for the price.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Pleasantly Surprised

The clerk at Sears told us that the cordless trimmer would not last more than 15-20 minutes regardless of what size battery we purchased. This trimmer did an excellent job and did not die even though we have a very large yard with trimming about a privacy fence and lots of landscaping. We are very pleased with how the trimmer works.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Overall
Very awkward, hard to use

The handle with 2 triggers required to operate is awkward and unbalanced. String does not feed automatically. The string is weak and heavier string doesn't work. The balance is awkward and tiring to operate. It is hard to remove the string cover and replace the string.
