Put it together, charged the battery, then.....nothing. No movement, no sound, no trimming. Disappointed. Returning for credit.

Trimmer trims well but uses a lot of line. Auto advance feature works well. The edger mode works even better. I have 500 feet to edge, used two charges. Charging takes about an hour with about a 5 minute cooling down period. Ran out of line after about 400 feet of edging. The new line seems to last much longer.

The battery life lasted less then 1/2 hour, The string wouldn't extend on it's own (Had to push a button down under the guard and pull on it). I used once and brought it back to the store. My Black N Decker works 100% better.

I was happy to receive my order of a 40V 12" string trimmer and Edger, but after charging the battery and preparing to put it to work. Things took a sharp turn for the worse! I attached the battery and nearly instantly smoke came rolling out, nasty burning odor! There has to be a lot better choices out there than this item. I never made it far enough to see how it cut, FULL REFUND FOR ME! I really thought better of Craftsman products and when I read the previous Review I thought surely it was a fluke, just one bad one that slipped out. Now all I can say is BUYER BEWARE!!!

I was excited about the power and finally more use time but when I got it and put the battery in for about a minute or two the the motor burned out right away and smelled up the whole house with a very bad burned smell. I could not even try it out on the grass. I think either one of two things happened. The electric motor was bad or it is just to much voltage for it. I was very dissapointed in the product. I went to the store to replace to give them the benefit of the doubt but they did not sell only online. Bummer.
