The handle with 2 triggers required to operate is awkward and unbalanced. String does not feed automatically. The string is weak and heavier string doesn't work. The balance is awkward and tiring to operate. It is hard to remove the string cover and replace the string.
This string trimmer is fantastic! I have used it for 3 months now and have been impressed by the long lasting battery and the power this trimmer has! The edger does a great job of doing my sidewalk and driveway...looks like a professional did the job! It is so much lighter than a gas powered trimmer and makes it easy to get into tight areas. The battery life is great...takes more power when edging, but can charge back up in just 30 minutes! I have bought mostly craftsman tools and have always been greatly satisfied...customer service and quality are fantastic. Thank you SEARS for such a great product!
Great item. Lots of power. Line feed is working well. When I sense that the line is too short, I just turn the trimmer off and back on again and it feeds the line once again. It is not as powerful as my gas trimmer but, it does the job nicely.
My old gas trimmer recently began leaking gas all over me. Being frustrated with the smelly, dirty old thing I decided to go with this lithium-ion option from Craftsman. Although I was hesitant at first, I am very pleased with its performance. It is light-weight, quiet, and easy to use, the battery lasts easily for my entire yard-which is a bit over an acre. It also has plenty of power! It is so much easier and cleaner to deal with as opposed to the old-2-cycle gas trimmer I had. I'll never go back! I'd highly recommend.

So here's the real deal. For a battery operated trimmer, this thing is frigging powerful. It really does give you the full juice until it goes dead as well. How long is that? About an hour of active trimming. I use this for a 3/4ths of an acre lawn care and it works very well. The battery charges back up, again, in about an hour. So trim, mow, and you can trim again. Couldn't give it 5 stars tho, as it suffers from a fundamental design flaw. What's that flaw you ask? It EATS through your line like a fat kid at a donut store. In less than one week of trimming and edging, basically 3 days worth, about 6-7 hours total, my line was already gone. That's bad, like ridiculous bad. Now this isn't a flaw of Craftsman, it's a flaw to all trimmers with guards with line cutters. But here is the problem and why I do hold it against the designers, this problem combined with their auto-feed leads you to cutting your line in 1-2 inch chunks you then find around your yard especially when you're doing edge-work. Yeah, bad. When doing edge-work you're already going to be grinding down your line as it hits the pavement, you don't need help! So here's the trick. When you get this sucker it comes in like 3 pieces. The head shaft, the handle shaft, and the guard (battery is another piece but I'm not counting that). Well.. Just don't put the guard on! This lets the line grind down naturally thru use, and the auto feed works with it terrifically to not over-feed you. With the line longer, you have MORE POWER and its like 3x's more powerful as a result! BOoyah! Just ya know, tilt it as you use it so all the debri doesn't go flying back onto you and problem solved. You also can't use the wheel that is attached to the guard for edge-work obviously in this way, but the guard adds weight which is why you need that wheel. Without the guard, not so much weight, and no need for the wheel! Additionally, if you use it in this manner, you won't be hitting the button to rotate the head, or else you'll be eating everything you're trimming.
Has great power for a cordless trimmer works great for both trimming and edging too. Has great battery life did the whole back yard which is a half acre on a single charge.
