Craftsman  42 In. High Speed Sweeper

Works great, seems to pick up lots of small debris. The instructions for assembly are absolutely HORRIBLE! Small pictures combined with unclear instructions made this a very tedious assembly. Seems like Craftsman has gone cheap with their instructions manuals, almost useless.

Got tired of manually cleaning up after our Golden Retriever deposited a winter's worth of calling cards throughout our large lawn. I got this sweeper, along with the dethatcher, in hopes of making the job quick and easy on my old back. The assembly was a bit cumbersome, as is anything done the first time, but straight forward with excellent instructions. It took me about two hours to assemble both the dethatcher and sweeper, taking my time. Wow, was I amazed when I put the sweeper to work. After a few passes, the lawn looked immaculate, with hardly a trace of doggy doodoo. The dethatcher dug up embedded refuse, and the sweeper picked it up beautifully. Even picked up some cow manure from some range cows that got into the yard last fall!! After finishing the lawn, I had to continue using my new toy, so I swept up some sand and gravel that had been plowed onto our asphalt driveway. I'm sure that this is 'Off-Label', but it worked. I centainly recommend this product!!

I haven't personally used it yet but my husband enjoyed testing it out. It picked up more than we realized it would.

I have owned my 42" Lawn Sweeper 3 months, have used it less than 10 times, and have already repaired it 3 times. I have replaced the nylon gear in each wheel mechanism, have replaced the wing nut used to adjust the sweeper height, and lastly have just ordered $38 in parts to repair one bent brush and the brackets that hold the brush in. Obviously this lawn sweeper is NOT built to the standards of old. Be prepared to replace those nylon gears probably twice a year.

Primary concern was sweet gum balls. Does a pretty good job as well as picking up leaves and small sticks. Not a cheap way to get rid of sweet gum balls but so far I'm pleased with the results.

I retired my 30" to get this one. Love the capacity but the rods that hold up the back are poor at best. I quit searching for them, they fall out when you empty but they aren't needed.

It is critical to adjust the height of the brushes correctly, and check it often, because vibration causes it to change. Go slowly or the leaves will blow out of the hopper. It is almost as good as the three-bin bagger I had on another mower, but it surely beats raking leaves. The 42" model is about the same width as my 4-wheeler, which I use to pull it.

I grew up on Craftsman products. My father and grandfather both used them and trusted them. So when my daughter bought me this sweeper as a gift I was proud of her choice and excited to use this as I have a 3/4 acre yard. I have been disappointed and angered every time I have used this poor quality piece of junk. The wheels fall off every time I use it. And the wheels lock almost every time I use it which tears up my yard and prevents the brushes from doing their job. I would give less than one star if that was an option. What happened to you Craftsman?? I will never buy another lawn product from you. And would highly recommend that nobody buy this lawn sweeper. It is more work than sweeping the yard.

Far exceeded our expectations, granted we have a pretty flat piece of land - but it worked like a charm!
