Maybe 2.5 stars is more accurate, but this set isn't worthy of rounding it up to 3. For starters, the bits are press-fit into the sockets, and cheaply made. A couple of them are noticeably crooked. I'm sure that with enough torque, or just over time, I'm bound to break some. It would be nice to see replaceable bits set in actual sockets and secured with grub screws, as found on many professional makes and Craftsman's own 1/2" drive torx socket bits. Additionally, all 5 of the SAE Hex sockets in the 1/4" drive size are duplicated in the 3/8" drive, and the smallest size SAE hex bit offered (5/32") is only included in the larger drive size. Lowest-torque application with the highest-torque wrench... makes no sense to me. The 1/4" hex tools are maybe 2mm shorter than their 3/8"-drive counterparts, so there is really no advantage that I can see with such duplication. Instead of redundant hex bits, this set would be much more useful if it were to contain T-27 and perhaps T-47 and T-60 torx bits. I plan to round out my set with, at least, the T-27 bit. The matching, Craftsman T-27 is only available online and regular shipping costs as much as the bit... Really adding insult to injury for the already inferior set that I just purchased.

I ordered this 42PC bit set. I received it in a bag! I would of thought for 72.00 dollars that it would of had a case to keep them sorted. Now I have to buy something to put them in. Thanks!!!

Great set and more complete than most will need. I use these professionally in my job every day and it is nice that they have the lifetime guarantee. That way if you snap a 1/4 in bit off sears will replace it in store or mail you one. They are also not super hard steel and so when you do break one off in a bolt you can still drill through it and remove the bolt. A great buy for someone who wants a decent set of socket bits at a reasonable price. Nice job sears, but next time you can leave out the E bits and drop the price a bit more as those bits are far more specialty than most will ever need.
