Great Product
This mower is not good for a "Mechanically Mentally Challenged" people. Most people who buy it and don't like it are most likely attempting to have it do more that its design limits. Answer: buy a bigger mower. But for a half acre or less its great. The only thing I didn't like about it was the "pain in the backside" reverse engine cutoff switch. This cuts the engine if you put it in reverse with the blade engaged. But a simple examine of the F/N/R shift rod showed me how it worked and an easy non-evasive solution to this problem - a piece of 3/8 in. plastic tubing three inches long placed over the shift rod to insulate it from touching the engine cutoff contact solved this problem. Once I engineered this, I then bought the mower. The transmission and clutch is a bit touchy until the mower gets broken-in a bit. But after a half of a season it runs very smooth. The mulcher (extra purchase) feature is great too.

Not Good
Does a good job cutting, but the motor was cutting out. Service man came out, ordered a carburetor. Hasn't installed yet, but it ran good enough so I was using it, something happened and now can't even get the motor to turn over. Taking it back to Sears, if they will give me a new one I will try it, but if not want my money back :-(

Not what I needed

This mower did perform well but it was too small and lighweight for my property. I ended up returning it for a larger model which I love. The return process was easy and quick.

Overall
great lawnmower

I just purchased this riding mower. After cutting the lawn twice....I can see that I will be very pleased with it. The turning radius is very sharp and it cuts very nice. The size of the mower is perfect for a small yard such as mine but yet can still be good for larger yards as well. It is very easy to handle for a person who doesn't have much strength. It has a water hose connection that allows cleaning the cutting table which is easy to connect. I would prefer if the gear change leaver was on the side like my old mower, but I know it's just a matter of getting used to it. I would recommend this mower for anyone considering what you get for the price.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Does what it is supposed to do

Quick starting and easy to control. The steering is almost too easy, so you have to pay attention. With the mulching plug it does a nice job, It doesn't chop too fine, but it does scatter the clippings in a way that you won't create those little piles. The clutch is very tight, so it will jump no matter how slowly you release it. It was easy to disable the reverse switch that will kill the engine if you try to backup with the blade engaged. Check u-tube for a nice review on the mower and to see how to unplug that switch. I am impressed with this mower, and I hope it holds up well. I bought the 3-year warranty, and I am not happy about that, but you need it with this mower. Still, the price was right, and so far it does a good job.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Not good

This item was not a good purchase and has been broke down more than it has worked. Problems range from steering to the way it cuts. Poorly designed and not worth the money! Service men that come out get rude to avoid having to come back!

Troubleshooting Tip if engine stops

Great trouble shooting tip we found on YouTube...just bought the mower and have been happy with it. Our mower stopped suddenly in the middle of mowing yesterday and we checked a million things trying to figure out what was wrong. On a YouTube review, we found a mention of a safety switch on the right side plastic shute that was our exact issue! We had bumped something in the yard while mowing and knocked the chute away from the safety switch. A quick loosening and adjustment of the shute and the mower started right up!

I would recommend this product to a friend.
