good bang for your buck
i bought this lawnmower at sears in florence sc and the salesman was very helpful. my yard is very hilly and bumpy and this mower does great it does not scalp the yard. i purchased the wheel kit to put on mower but you really dont need it gonna take mine back. it has plenty of power and pulls a trailer very easily. i went from a kubota diesel tractor to this one and am very pleased with the performance

Be careful buying this product
I have shopped at Sears for years for all of my power equipment. I bought this mower yesterday only to find it wouldn't start in the afternoon. My neighbor came over and we finally got it started. Now it smokes so I have service coming out. I assumed this thing had a Briggs or Kohler and my neighbor told me this was a china engine. Will see how this goes but may wind up returning this unit

Overall
tractor

I love this tractor plenty of power and I love the color too. I really don't know what every one else is talking about. If I had to guess it is/was operator error.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Overall
Poor performance

I purchased this unit form the outlet store last winter and finally tried it out last week. IN order to not the scalp the grass too badly the minimum setting of the mower has to be 4" Even with a 4" cutting height the floating mower deck scalps portions on the lawn that are the least bit uneven. On turns the sides dig in and leave ridges in the cut lawn. The shift on the run does not work very well, it takes a herculean effort to move the lever when in gear and once you do get it to move it jumps 2 to 3 gears ahead of your intended ******. Coming down is just as bad. The mower with the blades running is very noisy and requires a good set of earmuffs to deaden the noise to a barely tolerable level. The speed /transmission match is poorly done. When I used the thatching attachment the tractor would stall on turns in low gear. With the mower going you cant go above the 3rd gear or you loose control because the mower is moving too fast. I also purchased a bagger - Just as bad poorly done.

Overall
Poor support mediocre tractor

We bought this tractor because we didnt need anything fancy and it was cheap enough that we could afford the extra service protection plan. The sales people told us the plan covered maintenance and blades. During the first year the engine broke and when the mechanic came to fix it he told us that repair was covered but maintenace was not. He said the sales people commonly tell people that it is even thought it is not. The next year the tractor would not start. I called for another repair but they told me it would be 3 weeks before someone could come out. I spent a day doing research and managed to fix it myself by adjusting the valves. Also the deck is so low that even on its highest setting it damages the lawn by cutting too low. We told Seats about this and never got a response. We should have spent more and gotten a higher end brand that wouldnt need service and would work properly.

Overall
Great mower for the price

Bought this mower, bagger & front bumper guard all at same time. Mower runs perfect and uses less gas than my old 1991 sears mower. I have over 3 hours on this mower and no issues as of this time. Starts easy and the turning radius is perfect for around tress & bushes. I added a tac & hour meter to this rider. LIghts are on all the time so I added a switch. Only down fall is the mower will shut off if put in reverse without disengaging the blades but I can live with that. The bagger worked perfect for me. I know others stated they had problems with the bagger but only problem I had was Sears had wrong part number for the bagger that goes with this mower. Make sure you call or double check the bagger number for this mower. The front guard/bumper not only looks good but is functional. All in all I am very happy with this mower set up.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

I Must Have 'Lucked Out'!

I notice a number of poor reviews of this lawn tractor, but my experience (thus far) has been excellent. Mower runs great! Just hope it keeps running that well.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Very unhappy

I bought this product for my husband. I went to the Sears store and the sales guy was very helpful. We looked at the unit and it was on sale. I bought this for him for his 35th birthday. Now it is smoking and it has only mowed our .75 acre yard three times. I have called service and they are coming to look at it. I have also tried to find the engine manufacture so I could contact them and in looking at the motor I found a tag that said made in China. I am not happy and want this taken care of

Mine Works Fine

I have mowed twice with no problems at all. That little Chinese motor thumps right along. With a pressurized oil system it's great for the price.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

really not happy

I purchased this mower and left it in my garage over the weekend to come out yesterday afternoon to find oil all over my floor. I have called service and they are going to come out on Thursday. When I bought this I assumed it had a Kohler or Briggs motor to now find out its not and its made in china. I am not happy and may return this to go find one with a different motor!!!
