Great mower for the price
I waited a year before leaving a review giving it plenty of time to see how it performs. This is a great tractor for the price, I shopped around for months and found it for right around 1,000. A lot of the negative reviews about this mower were that it was slow and did not cut grass in reverse. Well it's a mower not a go kart so the speed hasn't bothered me at all. I simply disconnected the safety feature that turns the blades off when put in reverse, mine cuts perfectly in reverse now. I also bought an hour meter from **** for 10 bucks and installed that to keep up with maintenance. Overall good mower, no complaints here. Put a trickle charger on the battery also so it won't die when it's not used or cold out.

Bearings in deck spindles
Mower is one year and 5 months old when bearings in spindles assy. in deck starting making noise. Discovered the bearings were bad and had to replace them myself. I am very dissapointed and not sure if I will buy another Craftsman mower again.

Dead on arrival - twice!

First mower delivered to me was dead. Turn the key, just made one click sound. Called the 800 number, talked to a nice tech, then was told to wait 2 weeks for service. Escalated and had a second mower delivered. On that one, engine died every time you engaged the blades - something wrong with the disconnect. Sent it back and then spent a huge amount of time over the next 13 days trying to get a credit. Unfortunately, very poor quality on this mower. I can't recommend it. Also can't recommend the Sears customer experience. This purchase cost me many hours of wasted time, a dozen phone calls, etc.

The motor seized after two season.. 1 month after warrantee

This lawn mower was used less than 12 months before the motor seized up.. and neither Sears or Briggs and Stratton would accept responsibily for it.. the motor is only warranted for 24 months, and I had the motor for 25 months and only used it less than 12 months...

Overall
should get more for the price

The mower is very good, but it does not come with a mulching kit or a deck washing connector. You have to buy both which will run about $120-$135 most mowers come with mulching kit

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Overall
good mower for the price

you move forward by pushing right side petal ( a little tough to push) . but if you adjust seat to fit your legs , not too bad. got lawn mowed in 1/3 the time. re: cutting in reverse, if you remove L. rear tire ( as instructed as maintenance) the connection is plainly visible , just disconnect and you can cut in reverse.. good mower

After 9 months of use

Okay so here I am going into the spring cuttings after a late summer and fall experience. I bought the grass bagger and it works great, the assembly is a bit complex but it works just fine. The tube (Deck to Bag) is in 3 sections which is really handy for unclogging a wet grass/leaves mess. The vibration I reported last year is still there although it has diminished quite a bit (suspect it is a rough spot on one of the belts). At first I was concerned about the tiny gas tank but then I was pleasantly surprised when the fuel consumption was much less than I expected. The automatic drive is the only way to go, it lets you control your mowing speed instantly while you are steering, forget about those 5 - 7 speed machines. The steering is light and precise, NO! IT WILL NOT CUT AN 18" DIA. CIRCLE, be satisfied with 40". If this machine only lasts half as long as my previous Lawn Tractor it will be a bargain.

I would recommend this product to a friend.
