We use the mower for a landscaping business. The engine is strong, but for this day and age it's very loud. It cuts good on flat surfaces. When cutting around trees with a slope around them it leaves a line. I lowered the anti-scalping wheels and it helped some. The tight turn and mowing in reverse speeds up your cutting time, almost like zero turn. One of the belt guides broke after two weeks and the local store wouldn't give me a new one so I had it welded back together rather than wait one week for the warranty mechanic to show up. Only had it for one month. Just like anything you have to take care of it, change oil, filter and grease to keep it going strong. Would I purchase another one? As of right now probably not, but time will tell.

Have ad this tractor for just over a year and it will do all the work asked of it. Only gave it 4/5 stars because it could use a little more weight on the front end for the tight turns.

The bagging is really bad, because there is just not enough airflow having everything being in-cased in the plastic. The bagging barrels do not stay together when taking them off to empty and put back on. The machine and engine work like a work horse. The bagging issues are beyond frustrating. Techs have not real solutions to the issue.

A excellent power plant with a Briggs platinum series on board and what has proven itself a strong transmission this tractor will keep going for years. However a standard belt for a 42" cut deck won't last long. Just too much demand for middle of the road belts. Same with drive belts the solid power plant and transmission eats belts for breakfast. Though this tractor is advertised as excellent for managing hilly terrain its hood design is not well fitted for the job. Fame torque and vibrations will cause the hood to constantly jump out of place and on down hill runs may occasionally flop open. The deck suspension system is adequate but just barely. The deck will not handle occasional impact at mowing speed without damage. After only one season with moderate usage in a 1.5 acre yard I found myself welding one of the suspension brackets back into place and adding a small angle iron support. Never been a problem since.

My last craftsmen mower lasted 18 years. This one hasn't lasted 18 weeks. Bought it in June - now it's September and the steering column broke. Spent over $300 on their home repair warranty. The earliest they can come out to fix it is TWO weeks from today. I should have gotten a ********** from the **********.

This is the first yard tractor that I ever owned. I mower 3 archers and it works great! I also pull behind a cart and lawn sweeper and I never find myself spinning. I like that the 6 speed transmission gradually take me down the hill instead of me going very fast down the hill. I highly recumbent this mower!

Plenty of horsepower. Mows well. Cuts to low even though you have it set at the highest setting it is still to low, not even 4 inches, not good for lawns in Florida which need alot of water and not low cuts. Fourth gear is too fast to mow in and third geat is too slow. Engaging the cluch has to be done slowly at high RPM or you will get whip-lash. Safety feature on the seat is absurd; using the trailer to pick up trash on the lawn and getting off and on shuts off tractor automaticly and is a pain in the rear!
