Quiet, powerful tractor mower does a great job, but has a great thirst for gas.

I bought the tractor in November at Sears outlet. I bought a previous one which was a different model and had a problem, so they offered me this one at the same price. After I got home I started it up. It did not come with an owners manual, so I started cut the grass. I would have to say I have a Sears LT 2000. This blows it away. This new lawnmower is awesome. It has a bigger deck, so I only have to make two passes on the Parkway. This lawnmower leaves my lawn looking manicured compared to my old I would have to say Sears outdone yourself. If you have a chance to get one and an outlet. It's well worth the money

I bought this tractor because it was reccommended by Sears' on-line Yard Guru as fitting the geography of my property. I'm glad I did. The "Turn Tight" feature is fantastic when compared to my old Murray tractor. And the 24 HP, 2 cylinder engine is perfect for allowing me to climb between the rows of my 80 orange tree trerraced property. I noticed a review here that mentioned lack of traction. My tractor climbs the rows almost as well as my Hummer climbs off-road. I would venture to guess that the reviewer who found his traction lacking, did not read and follow the instruction book. This tractor is shipped with tire pressure at 25 PSI. Instructions in the manual and on the actual tires themselves state that operating pressures should *not exceed* 10 PSI! That means 8 or 9 lbs. could be used. The automatic transmission and Turn Tight makes this the best machine to maneuver around any and all obstacles.

Best Tractor on the market. Rides smoothe and is very quiet. Tons of power to cut through weeds and going up hills and you never here the motor have to work hard. This tractor is a great buy.

As the brand new owner of 5 acres, I needed a lawn tractor badly and agonized over the choice. I settled on this one because the Craftsman brand is still respected widely and I liked the idea of an 8-inch turning radius. I've used it twice so far. In all, this seems to be a fine mower and is a lot of fun to drive. It was very easy to set up and get running, even for someone with no experience. The cut is not as even as my push mower, but I just want the grass to be ankle-high, not golf-course perfect. The mower is not nearly as noisy as I feared it would be; I haven't been wearing ear protectors, but probably would if I was on it for a long time. The difficulties I've had mainly are with traction. On wet grass or in mud, the tractor will not handle even small slopes or ridges. I couldn't get it to go up the ramp into my shed, for example. I don't know whether different tires would help.
