Craftsman  46 In. 21hp Briggs & Stratton Turn Tight Hydrostatic Yard Tractor Non CA

This was the first tractor I ever bought and I am so sorry I did. In the 2 yrs I have owned it I have had nothing but problems. One right after the other. I spent more time waiting for service repair guys. 2 weeks before one could come out. Are you kidding me. Another 2 weeks for parts. A month at a time not being able to mow the lawn. Then why do I even bother having a Craftsman. It is very poorly made and all it will lead to is more time waiting to get it fixed then being able to use it. This product is so bad that I did not want to rate it any stars but forced to put at least one star to post it. Goes to show that you still can't rate it what you want to. I wanted to at least put out there that this product is absolutely unreliable and not worth investing money into so I put the one star.

Needed to replace 21 year old mower.

This tractor is cheaply built. When blade are on, it vibrates a lot. It is new and engine back fires when i start it.

I purchased this mower with high hopes based on prior reviews. Out of the gate, the motor is ridiculously loud and struggles to make power. The biggest issue is the deck and the blades, the whole deck shakes uncontrollably. I returned this unit and asked to exchange it for another, started it up in the parking lot, same issue. Do not buy this unit until they address some major concerns. I am very disappointed as I have put my faith in Craftsman products for years, this does NOT meet the standard.

After two mouth with only 2 use. the spindle snap, and sear would not replace it, along with terrible customer service when you need to talk to them. Then the next use after the spindle housing assemble was replaced the pulley grind it self bald, and when that was replace, the new bearing shaft melted alway from being made of cheap metal.

To all the Bashers of this item, get real. A few may have got a lemon (motor problems ect.), but most of the complaints are from people that didn't know how to use the mower, or abused the mower, or just thought it might do the work for them. Going on 3 years with mine and NO problems. Does exactly what it is supposed to do, cut grass, quickly and evenly. Owned a previous model that did well also, this one is better. Only complaint is that I wish the rear tires were taller and a bit narrower to give more stability on inclines.

Used it 3 times already and really impressed with the turning radius of this machine! Have several large trees on my property and able to circle right up to the tree with no need for re pass. Starts cold with ease. Travels well up incline through rough terrain. I actually look forward to cutting my lawn again!

Tractor delivered around 9:00am today. Added gas checked the oil, adjusted air in tires and leveled the mowing deck. Starting cutting the grass around 10:30am and at 12:30 the steering wheel started spinning free and I drove into a pine tree. Steering now cuts in and out with the steering wheel free spinning at times. Called the store, told me to call delivery and gave me a phone number. Called delivery all they can do is arrange for tech to come out in 10 days. I going to see what happens but based on other reviews, I may just end up returning it.

I am in eastern North Carolina (Grantsboro, NC) I bought this tractor on 4-20-13 and am very pleased. I did a lot of homework before I purchased the tractor. I liked the warranty, manufacturer (Husqavarna) and the price. I trust Sears, I grew up with their products. I cut 1.5 acres, my mother-in-law has an acre and we have a second home on a half acre lot. I cut all those yards within the break-in time of five hours. I'll be changing the oil today. I used the cut in reverse feature easily. I now have a beautiful yard and my mother-in-law made me some chicken-n-pastries and collards to show her appreciation. Mmmmmm!! I now don't have to depend on my undependable landscaper. He charged me $100 a month. Now I own my own equipment and can cut my yard when "I" want to. Because of the mower price $1499 I was able to also purchase a gas powered leaf blower ($99) and gas powered weed eater ($145). I'm set!

First tractor we received a couple of weeks ago was defective,as transmission wouldn't engage and plastic fan fell out on ground within moments of cranking first time. Owner of Sears franchise store promised replacement would be checked out before delivery. Replacement tractor was delivered a week later without having been tested (no gas in it and shrinkwrap still on it), transmission engaged long enough for tractor to move maybe 8 feet. There was a burning smell and it wouldn't move further. Went back to store and were not offered apology, but they offered refund and we took it. This will be our last purchase at Sears.
