Best Mulching Blades
This blade is similar in design to the gator mulching blades. I have found them to do the best job of mulching. The resulting material is a finer mulch than what the standard mulching blade produces. Highly recommended

Useless

I bought these blades over the web from sears and they are useless.  The cutting area of the blade is very small and the rest of the blade just pushes the grass around.  You will have to cut your grass 3 or 4 times and it will look terrible.  Save your money.

Total Junk - Bagging is Horrible!

I have a 24 HP Craftsman 28857 Lawn Tractor. It came with Craftsman 46" High-Lift Tractor Blades - which are EXCELLENT. Tried to purchase a new set of the same, but as I couldn't find any, the salesman said these "advanced mulching and bagging blades are even better." (WHEN will I EVER learn?) Unfortunately, they are complete junk. They didn't pick up a quarter of the amount of grass the high-lift blades did, and they also left grass all over the yard - meaning I had to go over everything quite a few times to get up the cut grass. So it cost me considerable extra time and gas (for both mower and car), as I immediately took them back (despite a 20-mile round trip). Purchased a pair of Craftsman High-Lifts (like came on it), and just like always, they cut and BAG like a dream - extremely smooth cut! Just remember that the High-Lift blades don't come in a 2-pack, they must be purchased separately. Just don't make the mistake of buying THESE!

Mulching blades work well

The mulching blades work well in grass that is not over six inches tall.  Once you get any taller they leave a trail of clippings behind.  Overall mowing once a week on a constant basis made sure there were no trails.

The blades design is interesting, but I believe it gave us a much better cut then the standard mulching blades.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Funky Advanced Mulching Blades

Used them once on a large lawn that's mowed regularly. I have no bagger, so ability to mulch is important. The blades worked as advertised. I also mowed a section of pasture grass that's next to the lawn. The blades did a good job in the more rugged, taller grass I usually take care of with a brush mower. And did I mention the blades are red? I believe that makes them spin faster.

Great blades for normal grass heights

I to have a 24HP 46" mower and was excited about these blades.    I have 2.5 acres to mow.

For the most part the blades work GREAT except when the grass is very tall (6+ inches). The blades do leave grass in the middle as others have reported.  I haven't made any changes to my deck other than the blades. For what I can tell the baldes just can't handle the taller grass as it tries to mulch it.  I have tired to drive slower but that does work either.

In areas where I haven't let the grass grow taller, the blades are OUTSTANDING!!  I have noticed the discharged clippings to be much, much smaller.  I remember when using my old mulching push mower it required me to mow more often when the grass wasn't as tall.

In areas where I have a lot of trees, the blades seems to pick-up and mulch what leaves are on the ground very well.  I can't wait to use these blades with the bagger this fall.

Since learning I need to mow a little more often, I am very happen with the blades overall.  They leave my lawn looking a more professional.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Craftsman 46 Advanced mulching blades

I have a 24 HP 46 inch Craftsman Tractor with the bagger setup.  This is the third season I have used these blades, and I could never go back to the "stock/standard style" blades again.  The 1 star reviews have me wondering if they were installed correctly, or used in the appropriate tractor.

I use these blades for spring/fall leaf cleanup as well as weekly mowing all summer.  With the standard blades leaf cleanup was impossible because the standard blades didn?t cut the leaves it would just suck them into the bagger and this would cause them to fill very quickly.  These blades do a better job of cutting and packing the leaves into the bagger (they still fill quickly but it was a huge improvement).

They work perfectly for lawn mowing, I run my tractor in 3rd gear with a 4 inch cut. I did adjust my deck and measure the blade height to get a true 4 inch cut.  I have a rather large grass area over 1 AC, and I used a bagger, I noticed a huge difference in bagging performance.  I was emptying my 9 bushel bagger 4 to 5 times with the standard blades and that was easily cut in half with these blades.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Amazing...

These blades do not leave clumps in my lawn like other mulching blades that I have purchesed in the past, even when the grass gets tall. They also make the clipings much smaller so that they go further into the grass. All of this has led to a decreas in my lawn care time by almost an hour between recutting the missed blades hear and there and then going through and blowing off the clumps left.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Looks great but results are less than adequate.

I was excited to see how this "advanced" mulching blade would work compared to the basic mulch blade that I had to replace since I chipped it badly with rocks and pinecones in the yard.  Immediately it was disappointing.  I have a 46", 24 HP Craftsman tractor and it would leave many blades of grass uncut, especially near the middle.  I checked the leveling of my deck, air pressure in my tires, and rechecked the blades themselves to ensure it was secured tightly.  No change in results.  I find myself either having to go 1 MPH on the tractor or double back many times on the uncut blades of grass.  I definitely do not let the grass grow tall so it's not because of the height of the grass.  I think the blades do not create a good vacuum / suction to pull the grass up before cutting.  Very disappointed and I will now be buying the cheaper blade mulch blades which seem to work great.

Advanced mulching blade is great

I bought this blade today and just got done cutting my grass. WOW!!!  Way beyond my expectations. The grass was wet and usually clumps....not this time. Nice even cut and grass dispersion. Wasn't sure after reading first review, but I'm definitely glad I got this.

I would recommend this product to a friend.
