Overall, others give this:
The case is well made and cap fits nice compared to others I have had that were loose and constantly fell off. My only gripe is that this case will only fit the basic 4' levels and is not even remotely close in fitting any 4' premium levels whether they be Craftsman or another brand. This case is so exact that you can barely squeeze the level it was designed for inside. In fact I have to slide mine in and out several times before it will bottom out so I can install the cap. It should be designed with enough wiggle room to allow a smooth quick fit without the need to coax the level inside. I didn't want to knock the rating down because it is well made and because there are not hardly any manufacturers that make these. I was hoping to use this case for my 4' Empire level but no such luck. And I did in fact buy the Empire at Sears.I don't think this will be available much longer since it was tagged with a clearance sticker so get it while you can if you need one.
I view this case as a Must Have item to store your various four foot levels. Pretty simply and straight forward - only modification was to add a lenght of cord to keep the cap attached to the case. It is money well spent , the protection provided by the simply plastic case takes some of the worry out of transporting and storage. As noted by other reviews the level will rattle around inside as there is no padding. This fact hasn't been a concern over the years that I have had mine in use. I have also found this case useful in the storage and transportation of wood and metal yardsticks as well as a custom metal cutting guide.
Finally found this level case after having checked a few different stores over several months. Sears needs to do a better job of making this item more readily available. Seems to do the job well. Tough plastic. I bought this since I don't have much room on the inside of my pickup and often need to store my 4 ft. level in the bed of the truck. The fit of the Craftsman level is OK in the case, but it still rattles around a bit inside. I might experiment with some small foam pieces in the bottom of the case and on the inside of the cap to make the fit a little more snug. For those into looks, the one I found was red, not gray as it appears in the picture. For $10, it's a pretty good buy.
