I currently have three of these shelves in my garage and while I'm happy with their construction for the money, I would like to see more protection added so they survive the trip to my door. I've had to reshape shelving sheet metal on 2 out of 3 because the delivery truck abused the heavy package. Other than that unit quality is adequate. Construction time takes anywhere from 50 min.-1 hr.+ and the instruction manual may misguide someone who is only looking at the pictures. I'd also like to see a couple extra spare pieces of hardware included as I've encountered a few screws that wouldn't thread properly.

I recently purchased a pair of Craftsman 48" x 18" shelving units for my garage shop. They are well made and very sturdy. Assembly was straight forward and tool very little time. I am very pleased with my purchase

About the instructions - I'm not in the construction field, but have assembled my share of products over the years and these instructions, hands-down, win the award for the most poorly written. They were not clear, were difficult to follow and lacked images to help clarify steps. About the shelf - If all the parts are included, the shelf is solid. A week after I bought the shelf, the fourth leg finally arrived (it was not included in the original packaging). The shelf does scratch relatively easy, but it is sturdy. I'm not sure if it will hold up to the weight specified, but it holds what I need it to without any noticeable shelf bowing.

These shelves are 24" deep not the listed 18" so it will not match up if you have the corner rack piece and will hang out 6". Mine also was missing a upper leg so I could not finish building it. The store would not order me the missing part so now I have to unassemble everything and return it. I am going to reorder the 36" so it matches the 18" corner rack I have. I did notice the overview of this product says 18" but if you click the specs tab it does show the 24" deep. I wish I would have know this because I would have never ordered this rack in the first place. I was impressed by how stong this rack is and good quality. It is difficult to put together and two people are required for assembly.

The holes in the side supports for the shelves were not drilled (spaced) properly. None lined up with the holes in the shelves.
