The 5/16 side terminal wrench works realy well for the price! I`m in the auto program in Iowa Central Community College and use the wrench every week. The wratcheting action works just as good as more expensive options. I would recommend to a co-worker.

I have one vehicle that has a side terminal battery. Undoing a terminal has always been a bit of an adventure. A socket wrench doesn't fit and an combination wrench, or adjustale might short against the oter terminal, either by accident or carelessness. The thick insulation on the handle and the reversible ratchet make this chore relativly easy. Additionally it is made in the U.S.A, and carries the Craftsman hand tool warranty This is a weclome addition to my toolbox.

This little wrench is awesome. I opt every time to use this thing on the side post batteries I install daily. Forget a 8mm or 5/16 quarter inch drive ratchet, this is all you need. In seconds I can have the terminals disconnected ready for service. The ratchet is reversiable so if you slip it on the bolt the wrong direction, no problem flip the switch and keep turning. Lastly the slim design is helpful for batteries (side post) that don't have much clearace in which a socket/ratchet combo wouldnt fit or would be cumbersome. It's a must have for anyone doing a side post battery install/removal.

I pride myself on having a pretty complete tool collection. My goal is to own the perfect tool for any job that I might encounter. This is especially true with this little inexpensive gem. Everytime I plan to switch out a battery it takes longer to find the right tool than to do the job. What is needed is a 5/16" box end wrench for side mounted terminals. When you can't locate one, you generally grap the closest pair of pliers. Danger, my friend! The terminals on a battery are usually made from lead which is very, very soft. A couple of turns with a set of slip joint pliers and the terminal will release, but can never be properly tightened when a wrench again. Don't let this happen to you. Pick up one of these must have tools and keep it in the glove box of your car.

This was a gift from a friend of mine after I apparently was griping about having to pull batteries. Not sure where that came from, but I took this tool and basically just threw it in with my automotive toolkit that I keep in my truck for emergencies. Well, an emergency came and I had to replace the battery of a coworker. So I grabbed this tool and it's very handy little tool compared to setting up the comparable socket wrench. I just grabbed it and off it went, making my job a lot easier and we got the battery off quicker than usual. It also helped us get the battery back on just as fast after the replacement battery was delivered. This tool was a nice surprise and I recommend it to anyone to keep in their car or truck.
